Good to see a couple of Saturday night games, always struck me as curious that Sky have underused it - they have been entitled to put 10 fixtures there from their normal packages but have only used it a couple of times each season.

Maybe wary of XFactor/BGT/Dancing type shows in ratings opposition?

My guess would be what you said with ratings and lads are more likely to be out on the beer than sitting at home watching Sky. Even 40 people watching in a pub means 40 less direct viewers.

But also policing a 19.45 Saturday evening kick off would be difficult I imagine. Longer time for away fans to get well on it before arriving at the stadium, so trouble could ensue.

Really liked Danny Rose in episode 5 of All or Noting Spurs he spoke up well for himself and I think came across very well.

Haven't seen Ep 5 yet, but liked his little contribution in Ep 4 - was the first one in the dressing room to make sure Tanganga got credit for his debut performance despite the loss. Every time I hear him speak on anything, from snippets like this, to the longer Second Captains interview, he just seems a really solidly decent person.

    PFA Team of the Year:

    Pope

    Alexander-Arnold - van Dijk - Soyuncu - Robertson

KdB - Henderson - David Silva

    Mané - Vardy - Aubameyang

5 Liverpool players seems a bit light but Silva aside it's hard to argue with many of the others

Yea Silva the odd one out. Looks like he's been given the spot based on his whole career in the PL rather than his performances this season.

I would have given Egan the nod over Soyuncu as well actually. Soyuncu tailed off badly after Christmas.

Didn't think Silva played much either?

My memory is gone to shyte :pac:

Silva’s inclusion preposterous. The English media’s obsession with overhyping him was woeful at the best of times, the players doing this at the expense of Sterling, Grealish, even Bruno Fernandes just makes zero sense.

He really wasn’t all that good last year.

Hes been an unbelievable and incredible player, really underrated outside of city fans till recently but he was generally shocking last season compared to the standard he had set so its a joke he has been given a place in the team.

Id wonder when the votes were done? Soyuncu was a shoe in till about feb then went to sh1t.

They obviously gave out the trophies about a week ago which is mental when you think there's money being bet on these things

Trent's photo is taken at Liverpool's training ground and he's been on England duty since last week, playing tonight, so they've known about this for a while.

David Silva must have just been incredible every time we didn't watch him to get in ahead of the likes of Fernandes, Fabinho, Wijnaldum

It's player voted isn't it? They don't have to have to pick the players with the best performances. Let them pick swntimentally if they want. It's ANOTHER after season award. There are so many they are all meaningless at this stage.

I don't see how he can be overrated when pretty much every time he plays a televised Sky or BT Sports game, the commentators spend 90 minutes salivating over him, whether he has a good game or not. Martin Tyler the worst culprit.

Silva had a very good 10 season career, but he gets some serious overhype around him for a guy who has never been in the top 5 players in the Premier League (rarely even top 10 imo) at any one time.

In only watching that ep now and I have to say he came across a bit petulant to me.

    I agree.

I seen the clip two days ago & thought the same, especially at the end when he went off in a huff & said "I'm going to see Daniel".

It reminded me of a child having a fight with his sibling ending it with "I'm telling Mum" or something.

now I've only seen the first 2 episodes, I've yet to see this episode in full.

I've only seen this clip, is there more to it or the story than this?

I thought Danny's default position was petulance. I haven't seen the show but read he gave Mourinho some grief, which puts more points in the bonus column.

While you can argue about the right players being picked, it's good that it's actually a post season award

The awards are usually done with quite a few games to go, never got the sense in that, a player right on the edge of POTY or TOTY could have 5/6 MOTM performances at the end of the season but mightn't have made the TOTS since it was picked in early April

I think a fair bit is played up for the camera's but when Rose said he was going to Levy I think Jose was thinking 'ok, thanks' as it saved him the bother of telling Levy to ship him out. I'll always remember him lamenting London chipee's

Onto June, he certainly made the most of it Jose!!

Part of me is tempted to watch that show as Jose seems to love knowing he's on camera and it makes it way more dramatic.

He speaks extremely well to the camera. I'd imagine when he had time to compose himself and think about what he wanted to say.

He only really features in ep 5 and that's thr only interaction we see between him and mourinho. I wanted to grab him and say... Stop feeling entitled to a place. Stay and fight for your spot!!!

At one stage he says to the camera that Mourinho obviously wants a younger player and I was like.... That's not the Jose I know.... He likes tried and tested.

another easy decision like the YPOTY award was, the POTY was close but KDB deserving in the end.

well done to all involved & all teams whose players made the TOTY.

Why is Marcelo Bielsa thought of so highly? As far as I can see, bar a successful stint with Chile, he is no more then a journeyman manager. Failed to make it out of the WC group with a decent enough Argentina team. Didn’t set the world a light at Athletic Bilbao, threw a strop at Marseilles, Lazio and Lille.

maybe some leeds fans will anwser better - but he seams to have done wonders at elland road, without spending much , the pressure to get them up must have been immense, and he did it in style.

He is more know for his style and tactic than his success, he plays systems that where not seen before he introduced them

Because of this he found it hard to get big jobs as he is sense as kind of left field ,Players who play under him rave about him ,

When Pep started as a coach he always spoke about getting ideas form Biela

His 3 3 3 1 formation is his most famous

T"his signature style of Bielsa's has had so much influence in the football scene that many present coaches – former players under Bielsa's command – are heavily influenced by the style, such as Gerardo Martino, Mauricio Pochettino, Diego Simeone, Matías Almeyda, Eduardo Berizzo, Mauricio Pellegrino, Santiago Solari and Marcelo Gallardo. Current Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola credited Bielsa as his tactical inspiration and called him the "best manager in the world" in 2012.[128] Jorge Sampaoli, former manager of Argentina, Sevilla FC and Chile, has been described as a "disciple" of Bielsa "

He has transformed that club, no hopers to a real class attacking outfit even with Bamford as his main striker. Tactically he is brilliant and is a character, affectionately known as "El Loco". Real cult hero and man of the people, drives a bog standard motor and lives in a small house by the training ground so he can walk to work. Even goes out to dinner in his leeds tracksuit.

Most of the top managers in the world would describe as a major influence on them. Hes an eccentric character so I don't know is suitable for a big club, constantly in a position to win trophies.

He'll put his principles above success, if a club was acting in a way he didnt see fit, he would just walk out. Brilliant style of football that's entertaining to watch, he more wants players to learn and appreciate. Kind of goes against everything expected in modern football.

With Leeds, it seems right place right time. Hard to find any players who've been coached by him who didnt at least appreciate what he does. This season should at least be entertaining if nothing else.
