It may yet happen, but its complicated.

EPL would like some money for the games - substantially less than the current amount of about £8M per game admittedly, but they do value them at a couple of million per game.
    ..
    ..
    ..
    ..
Sky/BT would be willing to show the games, but regard their actual value as close to zero. But I'd still be hopeful something will be agreed next week.

Looking positive for extra tv fixtures according to The Times.
But doesn't look like there'll be any obligation to have any on BBC/Sky One this time (though Sky usually do a few on there anyway)

Premier League clubs are expected to give the go-ahead tomorrow for all behind-closed-doors matches to be televised, but only until the end of September.

The top-flight clubs have been wrestling with the issue for weeks but have bowed to pressure and are set to agree a volte face with the 11 games which were not already scheduled to be televised to be shown live. One of the remaining issues surrounds kick-off times, and whether matches will have to be moved to minimise clashes.

A decision on what will happen for matches beyond October 1 when stadiums will be allowed a limited number of fans inside – on average 25 per cent of capacity – will be taken towards the end of the month depending on the landscape at the time.

A campaign by supporters’ groups is demanding that the policy on televising all matches be extended until stadiums return to normal, which may not be until the end of the season.

As revealed by The Times, the FA has suspended the usual Saturday 3pm TV blackout to allow games kicking off at that time to be televised.

Sky Sports are in line to be given the bulk of the extra games, followed by BT Sport, and the other rights holders Amazon and the BBC may be given one match to screen, or possibly extra highlights for the BBC. Unlike during Project Restart, there is no pressure for the subscription broadcasters to make games free to air.

Because of his skin colour he's now more likely to not get the criticism he deserves. Total bone head stuff by both of them.

Seriously? Have you not seen the type of stuff Raheem Sterling has had to put up with from the red tops simply because he's black and rich? Some of them don't even try to hide the racism.

They're Icelandic but trying to do a British accent, the hilarious thing is they ended up sounding like a person of shall we say no fixed abode.

Have you not seen the stuff Beckham and Rooney got?

They got grief for footballing matters, didn't they?

Sterling got grief for things like having the audacity to buy his mother a house.

    Its completely incomparable.

I've always thought Sterling comes across as a pretty decent individual. The strop after the Liverpool game aside, last year. I'd agree some of the crap he got from the tabloids earlier was unwarranted.

Yes, and their off the field stuff, no matter what it was.
I don't agree what they did to Sterling, even if the rifle tattoo was complete crap on his part.
Those rags will attack anyone, whatever their skin colour is.

But you made the statement that the rags would go easy on Greenwood because of his skin colour. As seen with Sterling who never did anything other than be good at football and earn a lot of money, the opposite is in fact far more likely to happen.

Frank Lamps regrets his outburst at Anfield the night Liverpool won the league:

    "Yeah, I did regret that.

"And when that broke the next day – I clearly felt it as I was doing it – but when it broke the next day and a friend of mine sent it to me in the morning, I was a bit embarrassed by it.

"Because I was in the moment, but in the moment, I felt we turned up and it was the easiest day for Liverpool ever.

"And I didn’t have a problem with Liverpool celebrating. Luckily enough, I’ve been there. I’ve been with Chelsea where we won the league quite early one year, and you can sit there and everything feels great.

"My feeling was, I want to be there where they are. I definitely didn’t mean any disrespect to Jurgen Klopp, because I’ve got huge admiration for them.

"But what I felt had gone on, it was an impulse reaction, which I will happily – when I do see him, I’ll put that one right.

"But also I care about my job, and it came out in the wrong way. And even I explained that to my daughters when I got home. And I’ll be brutally honest, it’s not the first time that they’ve heard it from me in the wrong moment.

"So I do try and practice what I preach, but I suppose in adult life, it doesn’t always work that way.

"But yeah, I was – and not just my own daughters, because you’ve got millions of Chelsea fans around the world, whether you’re young or old, it’s not the way I like to carry myself.

"But in talking about high level sport, you can’t take passion out of the game. And it just came out of me in one little swoop there."

Fair play to Frank, takes a man to admit he was wrong.

I said more likely. Things have changed since then. Criticism now of a black player is more likely to get some people screaming racism even if the criticism is valid.
Sterling has had issues off the field as well, such as his defense of a teammate with a racist Twitter post (after all his anti-racism talk).

totally agree. always liked Frank and thought he was out of line myself, I'm horribly biased though and couldn't be sure. He's gone up in my estimation with that.

We have all been there. Fair play to him for owning up to it and talking it out like that.

Best player at the best team should get the advantage in these things so should be Mane but probably won't be. VVD wasn't nominated right? Bit of a joke.

Good to see a couple of Saturday night games, always struck me as curious that Sky have underused it - they have been entitled to put 10 fixtures there from their normal packages but have only used it a couple of times each season.

Maybe wary of XFactor/BGT/Dancing type shows in ratings opposition?
