Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Next intake is due to be November but I'm not sure if it will be early or late in the month.

    The grim wait continues.

    Hi

I’ve passed all stages just waiting on my SMT. Can you’d tell me how long you had to wait to get your smt results and be appoint able ?

Is there likely to be another intake in October? And how many people are being put through at any one time

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 341 ✭✭NornIron74

Usually 2 weeks from medical to SMT results, the next intake is November I believe and there are around 50 per intake.
    What is your rough ML?

950-980 ML. Do we know roughly how many are appiontable?

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭SMS19

They got up to about ML870 in the last intake.

No idea how how many are appiontable but there is about 50ish that failed PCA but have since been progressed based of the new time limit. As far as I know they have all now completed medical so could be in the running for the next batch of calls.

I'm at least 100 below you on ML and got my call yesterday so don't see why you wouldn't get one.

Yeah there was higher merit lists than you that made the last set of calls so if you don’t get one ring recruitment and see why

Anyone nervous about failing the exams and possibly being out of a job? That’s my main concern. I’ve been told that it’s difficult enough, others say that they are supportive in getting you through it. Thoughts?

I'm more nervous about hating it and regretting leaving my current job.

I think all the staff at GV want to see everyone pass so the support will be there but we just need to put in the work.

Are you waiting on a call or have you a start date?

I’m waiting on a call. 800-900ml. I’m probably in the same boat as you. I’m happy enough where I am at the minute too.

Regarding exams as far as I know if you fail an exam you get the opportunity to resit it, if you fail the resit then chances are you will be backcoursed.
Homer have you been appointable long, as there are people below you on the ML you have received a call for this intake?

Haven’t received a call. I’m dreading it to be honest, I haven’t made my mind up yet. Passed vetting in June.

The length of time appointable must come into it, as both myself and sms who are lower down the ML got calls but then we have been appointable since March/April.

They got a call for November but deferred to December

  • Registered Users Posts: 28 first_timer10

Had to defer because of family commitments but received an email confirming that I have been approved for Decembers intake (subject to the course taking place). They need to stick the bit in at the end to keep themselves covered in case anything goes wrong. Was told calls will go out at the beginning of October to confirm my place but gave me the date for induction too to make sure I was able to attend.

What date is the induction? Do we also know how many are being taken per class?

  • Registered Users Posts: 92 ✭✭SMS19

Wouldn't be the best idea to give out the date of induction on here but they are normally 4 weeks before the start date.

Intakes are normally 52/54 people as far as I know.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4 Higs95

Hi guys, got a call yesterday for a reserve spot in November intake but a guaranteed spot in December, so most likely I will be starting December unless someone pulls out of this intake. I’ll be at the next induction day too so hopefully get to meet a couple of you. Just a relief to finally get an idea of a start date.
