    308 cases today - 181 in Dublin

    Wowzar

Not much more to say, lock your doors folks, it's only a matter of time before we see people dropping dead in the middle of the streets.

Why wasn't there uproar about the churches being reopened?

Mostly older people in a poorly ventilated building, sitting in the one spot for an hour.

    The bread protects them.

Thankfully my days don't involve me spending too much time on the doom and gloom of covid.

The problem I have with the pubs (and it seems to be mainly a Dublin thing) is that there is no time restrictions, no social distancing, no contact tracing in the majority of pubs I have either been in or been told of. I have seen people falling out of pubs locked. Ive seen the same oul lads going in at first opening and in there until night. Im more than happy with pubs opening where we can be 99% sure of them sticking to the rules. The problem is, from what Ive seen, Id be surprised if it was 10% or higher.

There's way more political pressure now to move quickly on pubs than there was a few months, even a few weeks ago. The talk of pubs has been constant in the Irish media for the last ten days.

The media move from one obsession to the next. I suppose no headlines in steady news.

How many cases have occurred in these places in ireland since end of June?

You can already have a drink in a restaurant.

I was away in August, constrained because of the Greenlist. Will be looking forward to see how the roadmap deals with Travel. Christmas market in Prague would be nice again this year.

Probably extremely low risk. A lot of it outdoors.

Aren't you just back from an Italian skiing holiday? I've a great memory.

Edit - just saw your other post... Can't really see how your travel has been impinged if you're going on two or three foreign holidays this year.

Tbh if I went to to a pub and that was scenario I’d just leave it off. Plenty of pubs operating responsibly. I’d prefer to spend my money with them

Pub beside me had a regular come down with it and had been drinking in the pub every night before he was tested and had 12 close contacts from the pub. None of them tested positive as they had a substantial meal. Anyway that is some useless information for you.

It's a beautiful place, I love the crisp cold air Nov/December. Easy warm yourself with the hot wine from street vendors. Just stay away from the Old Prague Ham stall in Wenceslas Square, serious rip off.

You don't have a great memory at all .Tip over to the 'will you travel thread, I outlined my trip there..
No skiing in Italy in August that I'm aware of, certainly none in Naples.
Actually I go several times a year this year was curtailed. Flights cancelled in May , waited for the Greenlist and headed to friends in Italy after touring for a few days.
Depending on the road map I hope to get away once or twice before Christmas.
Will you be travelling yourself, or just hiding in the long grass sniping?

You obviously haven't been recently. :)

A large building well ventilated and all doors open. Strict two metre distancing plus face coverings and hand sanitising. Numbers limited to fifty and few old or vulnerable attending at present. Stewards and ushers controlling the movements within, plus in and out of the church. And usually forty minutes or less duration.

I agree with all except for demographics.

From what I have seen and heard it's nearly exclusively the oldies..

No cases have been related back to these venues but did hear of over 200 at a funeral recently in a smallish church. The priest said I won't turn anyone away. Theres always a few in every walk of life.

I've seen them. Less than 10% attending here are over 70. Maybe the definition of oldies is fluid.
