It’s only a small shop selling cheap tack. Combined with his wifes 350 bringing the tally up to 700 and their mortgaged paid it’s a nice little proposition isn’t it. He seemed happy about it anyway.

No. They're now earning about 50% of what the average couple in Ireland earns.

You're making out everyone that says anything bad is receiving 350 a week. You have an awful lot of time to be searching through the "doom mongers" posts.

Nope, a lot of the doom mongers are actually working from home and still receiving a full wage. Take out not having the costs associated with having to go to work, and in a lot of cases people are saving on childcare, plus having an extra couple of hours in the day which would’ve been spent commuting to work... A lot of people are quite content with the current way of life right now and are very happy to keep the status quo.

So you think people giving scary news here are receiving 350 a week? How can you say that about people/posters you don't know?

    Its true

WFH crew, €350, some teachers, would be most likely

WFH crew are the loudest for sure, too much free time googling covid crap ( might as well enjoy it, many of them will be on the €350 when this blows over )

Most of the people who have had to face the virus since early on don't post that bad news, busy getting on with life

So you have a detailed analysis of the shops returns? I know the man personally. The shop just ticks over. He even told me it’s not worth it’s while opening the shop living of the covid payment because he can live off it and especially when the wife is receiving it. Her job wasn’t a high paid one either.

There’s people who have 3 or 4 in one household collecting those payments. When you can’t socialise or go out you won’t be spending much money so it will suit a certain cohort.

    I'm happily working from home.
I work in tech, and our reality has already changed. Many of us are more productive from home.

We don't need covid in order to maintain our wfh status. If it all ended tomorrow, we'd still be wfh

So what is your solution, as it appears that your approach is to resign from your job and wait at home until all of this is over? If more people were to follow that approach, what do you think is going to happen to our economy and food supplies?

Where did I say I planned on sitting at home until it's over? My approach is if I'm not happy with an employer's response to covid, get out. Nobody should have to put their health at risk in a job.

It definitely suits a small cohort of people. But those people are basically living in poverty.

Good luck to them I say

No i’m not actually. I just don’t trawl the net or twitter all day long to feed my drama fix to try and find the grimiest stories especially when there’s no real evidence as yet. By the way did i tell you i know a Covid survivor with a heart condition. He since had the heart tested and his heart is in the exact same condition as it was before the virus he got back in March.

Did I tell you it’s irrelevant. I know a horse with three balls who had covid. He’s grand now but you never know. He was a great horse precocovid, but he’s got heart and lung issues now

Yeah exactly only the misery of doom and gloom of heart failure is only relevent to you. You clearly don’t want to know about the people who fully recovered. I rest my case, pure misery merchant.

What do you do that couldn't be done by someone in a lower paid country?

Does it only have Irish based employees?

There's more than enough jobs for everyone in this space.
There could be a bit of downward pressure on wages in time I suppose, but tech companies cannot simply swap out their current staff for low wage workers from India or wherever.

Tech companies want the best, not the cheapest.

Just having a look at Worldometer. I see worldwide cases and deaths are starting to decline. Even the USA cases and deaths have dropped to. Good news.

350 quid per week won't even cover most people's rent

The mortgage freeze is coming to an end soon. It will be a winter of discontent.

You should mention it and then reflect / defect. The it'll be grand brigade have been consistently wrong. We are now 6 months into it. How long, how long must we sing this song.

Everyone must have a jar of jam theyre never going to eat or is mouldy, put it outside the house close but not too close. It will keep them busy eating, the poor divils have lost their jobs and are hungry, it would drive anyone crazy.

When people are still being made go out to work and a huge number of workplaces are unsafe, you can't expect people to not socialise or see anyone. We're not robots, we need to be able to relax. Golf Gate was the end of public compliance.

Glad your needy family members were able to do without you for the few days. I value having a good memory, you should too.
You'll have remembered your two wives then, I guess.
