    No: I don't care enough
Also masks not required in places providing medical services including opticians ? What were these guys smoking when making these rules up. Pretty sure I can get my eyes checked and wear a mask at the same time.

Alot of veterinary practices has introduced mask wearing in their premises but in human healthcare settings, ah, you're fine.

I've been to a GP and an optician in the last month and I had to wear a mask.

Actually, an optician is one person who should be masked up. As anybody who has ever had an eye test will tell you, they have to get very close to your face at times.

Is that so you can see them?

    Yes: to protect others
Haha. anyone could see that one coming :D

Well what are their new rules all about then? It actually says opticians are exempt. Such clowns and goes to show they have no idea.

Who are the clowns? Opticians have enough cop on the know what they need to do. And they are wearing masks. Which one's aren't?

Went to a branch of Costa today. None of the staff were wearing masks.

Re: bus driver in France moment

I was on a bus today (here in Ireland, obviously), and the driver asked a passenger to put on a mask (politely). He put a mask on. I don't believe anyone was traumatised, hurt or offended.

I'm always amazed when staff behind screens don't wear masks yet they're often practically on top of each other. It's as if only the customers could have the virus, not the people they spend the whole day with in close proximity.

Pity they don’t ban the mass produced Chinese masks and purchase Irish only products. China making fortunes on masks on top of infecting the whole world is a p1ss take.

I was on a strenuous uphill walk today with very few people around. We are talking 100 metres social distance. I see a couple with the full hiking gear wearing masks - seriously - is this medical advice? Completely nuts if it is.

Over the top. It’s not the advice that was given. You see people wearing them out on the street too which isn’t necessary unless you’re in a bit of a crowd. I never wear mine on the street only when I’m indoors.

We have about 50% of customers wearing masks when they come into the showroom maybe because they see nobody working here wearing them

Of course it's not the medical advice.

I’m actually fcuking sick of discussing this with morons who have no clue and thinking that they no better than world experts or think their debates are intellectual.

100% agree. The armchair Covid-19 police both on boards and on other social media are unbearable, moronic, imbeciles. I wish they would crawl back into their little warren coated in pages of the daily mail

Another covid police who knows nothing.

If staff are behind a screen barrier or are at least two metres distance, there is NO REQUIREMENT for a face covering.

What I was saying is I wouldn't be shopping somewhere where the staff arnt wearing masks for my own safety.

    More misinformed covid police.

In a medical situation including opticians and dental, the people working in the place have their own medical protection. Hence there is no MANDATORY requirement for those attending to wear masks.

I really wish the covid police would engage brain cells first.

Covid Police. Not as thought out as maskzis but every bit as tedious. Get over yourself.

They're preparing something to be consumed. It's a setting where it should be mandatory in fairness.

And if we are ordered to wear them outdoors like in France will you wear one or will you think its over the top?

I think in Spain you have to wear them everywhere outside. Which is completely ridiculous.

That's only on extremely busy streets and the like where it makes quite a bit of sense

There's less chance of transmitting the virus to someone when you're completely alone for miles, Elmer.

I hope we can find some common ground on this issue
