Outbreaks are in dog food plant in Kildare, Meat plant in Offaly.
2 more outbreaks in meat factories in Kildare town & Timahoe Kildare.

    Along with direct provision centres.

Make the 9euro meal more expensive or close the pubs.

Good idea, then rich people won't have to share these spaces with the peasants!

Christ!! Shane Beatty is an insufferable prick of a reporter!!

The format of questioning has been peculiar the last few months. They let the Virgin Media representative ask the thick as sh*t questions, such as "what are we doing to reach the Instagram generation..?? " Then the more experienced reporters are involved, presumably as the VM viewers brains have exploded with information overload at that point.

Schools will be re-opening. Deal with it.
Not for long . Do you need help sourcing on line schooling?

Ah FFS, this is unreal now.

So despondent, given how well we observed the rules and clamped this virus down up to a few weeks ago.

The meat factories and asylum centres were there all along. Wonder (if they are the source of cours, but looking likely), what the heck happened this week?

    They will.

It's up to each individual teacher to decide if they wish to return.

With a trebling of the average daily rate over the past 3 weeks. . . If that trebles again in the next 3 weeks. . . I won't be returning.

Right I live in a neighboring county to these 3- there must be 100s of crossing points between counties. Virtually impossible to impose a lockdown like that

North East Kildare is suburban Dublin. Lots of travel between families, work etc. Could easily spill over.

Outbreaks are in contained settings but the worry is if any cases become community transmission.

Hence the warning to the 3 counties for higher awareness

They may well but it will be difficult to do so without teachers.

Meat factories and direct provision are round 2 of the nursing homes.

Once it gets in it runs rampant

that's what the government need to get to the bottom of. Cases bar the three counties are more than manageable it would terrible if theses embers were allowed to grow.

Because they don't know the source of them all yet.

Betty youre the classic reactionary lockdown merchant. The slightest increase and you’re posting off the wall stuff- we have to live with this. Kids can’t be just dumped at home indefinitely getting dumber and dumber.
Formative years pass so quickly and missing out on the fundamentals will have a detrimental effect on educational, career and indeed health outcomes going forward.
It’s vital schools re open- if parents are not comfortable with that then it’s their choice but they must put in place the necessary home schooling structures if that’s the path they chose

It's low in the community, a very large number of cases are related to outbreaks, as close contacts. The HSE have also done some mass testing in some of these locations.

Are we becoming another Melbourne? Looking at our neighbours and patting ourselves on the back. Almost sneering at how good our overall response was compared to other nations.

The tone just sounds like it's going to be a stark few weeks ahead.

I'd say they're more likely to go with local restrictions first.

Glynn side stepped saying if they would or wouldn't implement them
