He wants to lock down Kildare, Offaly and Laois even before any details are released.

Listening to the language being used in the briefing here I'd say localised lockdowns will be recommended soon if they haven't been already.

That's ****e for those people and counties.
Get the bog roll in now.

When you take out those three counties the R number isn't reflective of community spread.

No, just to be very wary and not let it spread.

Housemates gone GAA training down in Kildare. That's an unnecessary activity that is ripe for spread based on these latest figures.

Okay. But from what I can gather there's big numbers being pre warned for those three counties so maybe it will happen but it shouldn't be for a journalist to demand or suggest it.

    Where are the politicians?

    Dr Glynn:
"The number of cases of community transmission has increased in absolute terms"
    "the proportion hasn't changed"

Shouldn't change message for rest of the country.

    That journalist is thick.

    Thank you.

    Where are the politicians?

On holidays as of last week.

    69 cases total.
39 are confirmed to be associated with outbreaks or are close contacts of a confirmed case.

2 cases have been identified as community transmission.

And the other 28 cases lads? Why don't they publish all of the details??

Yes they're pre warning that they've been informed of significant numbers relating to the 3 counties to be announced tomorrow.

Appears this is in relation to current outbreaks in factories and direct provision centers.

The only positive in the figures is a low of 2 for community transmission.

If only there was a pattern as to the type of factory that was common in all these outbreaks, if only, wtf like.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,874 ✭✭✭✭road_high

Right I live in a neighboring county to these 3- there must be 100s of crossing points between counties. Virtually impossible to impose a lockdown like that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,525 ✭✭✭✭expectationlost

    2 more meat factory clusters

They need to start telling people which towns cases or clusters are in.

They have made in very clear in the North that there is an outbreak in Newcastle Co. Down.

Makes me kind of worried because I was there last week, I was in a lot of the places that are now closed.
