Terrible ad but could be a great car. 2 owners. Good colour. Crap spec for a 1.8 but for €750 it’s worth it.

    This is my ad.

I've had no callers in 2 weeks, have dropped to €1300.

Car is what it is, any advice on the ad maybe?

I bought this from a bangernomics thread so it'd be great to see it go to someone here!

Price is a little high but I would suggest getting some silver paint and cover the bit damaged, get some black to black for the plastics outside but peanut butter would do unless the plastic is very bad, heat it with a heat gun to get back to correct colour.
Quartz d-lux ceramic coating would be perfect to bring it up.... Around €50 for s small bottle so maybe try the other 1st.

Take a photo of dash with it running and don't show all the error codes.
    Is the cluster all scratches?
Headlight could do with a good polish and bring back the shine to freshen up. Toothpaste may work but also kits Available

I'm always wary when I see 'Trade Sale' in the description.
In my head it always translates as....'ball of serious costly stuff about to go wrong or already gone wrong but not obvious yet...take your chances'!

Or am i reading too much into it?

Thats usually pretty much exactly what it means. Although if a trader sells you the car, it's still *technically* under consumer rights legislation. You wont get much joy from it, so only an idiot would buy a car expecting protection.

It can also mean that hes taken it as a trade in, has no interest in tidying it up and will punt it on to anyone willing to take the chance. There could be nothing wrong with it.

I picked up a nice little E60 like this that had just a few minor issues. Once sorted it's a lovely car.

It's a bit of craic for me, but I wouldnt be depending on cars like this unless you know what your doing.

Thanks, I've actually got a loan of a few valeting bits and will give it a touch up for some better photos. The cluster is all scratched, it's like that since I got it but when you're actually in the driver's seat it's not really that noticeable. I've had the headlight polishing job done on a previous car and they came up like new, may just have to get that done

Kits in motor factor aren't too expensive either....

Basically 2 or 3 light grade sandpaper, lube which could be water or bit of fairy in it, then just seal it for best results.

It’s a little overpriced. I sold my very tidy 07ES with a brand new test for that this time last year, so that’s 2 years in the difference.
You’d want to be asking around 1100 to get 900 IMO.

Get some Polytrol for the arch plastics, it’ll bring them up like new. Also get a touch up paint for the marks.

Don’t bother showing the pic of the cluster. They all go scratched like thay but it looks worse than it is.

Motor tax .ie , will do the job!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,679 ✭✭✭✭wonski

Motor tax for last 3 months changes, cornmarket insurance for last change of ownership over that - just do online quote and type in the registration number.

Why does it matter that it’s an import
