I think Brazil get their first 15m doses of the Oxford vaccine in December.

Before it could even possibly be certified as safe.

Great stuff, using the Brazilians as guinea pigs.

Professor Sarah Gilberts 21 year old triplets signed up for the trials. Do you think she used her kids as guinea pigs. You do whatever you want regarding a vaccine personally but stop bull****ting people with your uninformed guff.

How are we looking, based on what we know on both the virus and the progress on various vaccines, to completely get rid of and eradicate this virus from the world?

Most experts have concluded that we will not be able to completely eradicate this virus - the genie is out of the bottle. However, with an effective vaccine and treatment programme, it's expected that the virus will be sufficiently suppressed so that life will resume as normal. Some have remarked that it could be like the flu, it will linger around but not to the detriment of society.

Show me a historical example of a vaccine being mass produced safely in under a year, or shut your mouth!

That's my understanding as well from what I read so far. I had some plans to travel this year to many destinations in May/June but everything was cancelled. Hopefully we can get back some level of normality by 2022 with all the promising vaccines that are currently in phase 3.

Pfft Fauci what does he know? I trust random boards posters for my science.

Show me a historical example of a situation where we needed a vaccine mass produced in under a year or shut your mouth. Oxford have been performing phase 1/2 tests on this for years back when it was a MERS vaccine.

The fastest vaccine ever developed was the mumps vaccine, which took FOUR years.

There is clearly no safe way to produce a vaccine in under a year, no matter how much cash you throw at it.

It's why a sizeable chunk of the population would never dream of taking such rubbish.

Yeah you only had to go back 60 years. Technology and science have advanced a fair share in 60 years. Again the experts say that they can make one so maybe listen to them?

Any chance this thread could go back to being an information thread?

I have zero interest in reading anti-vaxxer nonsense.

And I have no interest in reading your slavishly pro vaccines comments either, so it's swings and roundabouts. :o

As long as you’re happy enough that restrictions maybe imposed on the anti vaxxers due to the seriousness of the disease.

Try and impose your restrictions on me and see how that pans out for you.

Well considering the whole country has had restrictions imposed on it for months it'll probably pan out very well on just one person.

It won’t be me personally because i won’t need to, it will be the government because i’ll make sure i keep paying my taxes so they can do it for me.

Yeah you're obviously a troll. They all go that one post too far past reality and give the game away.

Hardly surprising. No-one is under any illusion that anti-vaxxers are anything other than ignorant and selfish.

If restrictions are imposed on anti vaxxers they’ll be different. You may need evidence that you took it for flying/travelling, enclosed places like matches, pubs weddings etc.

Not saying it will happen but if most people refuse it they may have to do something like that.

So do us all a favour and get off the thread then? Everyone's a winner that way..

I couldn't give a toss about pubs, matches or weddings.

The travel aspect is a concern, but I'll find a way around that, by whatever means necessary. ;)

The travel aspect is a big concern and will be the most strict i’d say.

I don't think cargo crates are the best method of transportation. Unless Amazon prime get into human trafficking.

You clearly don't care for username guidelines anyway.
