That seems a little dumb as a business proposition unless they think they have a captive audience. It's kind of thing that will get just as much good as bad attention.

Their are other studies backing up this claim. The evidence is mounting now.
Indeed officials were anxiously expecting it but have been surprised not to see a surge, especially in Minnesota.

While it can appear scary to some, bumps like that are the new normal.

Just so long as it's someone else and not you who is affected yeah?

I do agree. I think some of the Chinese studies have shown similar results. We haven't though seen proper evidence that can be pointed to as fact and as such there are other questions for example I hope it is not a fuction of the time of year and weather which makes transmission much lower and this could change in the winter.

Its not been transmitting within sports teams also. A Norwich City player played a game with the virus and did not transmit it to anyone. Rigorous testing regimes at this level.

I dunno with the American cases getting out of control I think the majority will of the people is for protection. There was a case recently of someone in a coffee shop refusing to serve someone not wearing a mask. A tip jar was setup for him online after the story went viral and he got like 40-50k out of it.

If people are being forced to interact with the general public and go about their daily lives while wearing masks to protect others it is only natural they expect others to do the same. I am not sure you will have much goodwill towards people ignoring the advice if cases are exploding like in America.

As i said in an earlier post. It’s so much better conversing with real people about this virus than some miserable keyboard warrior people that’s on the net. I won’t be bothering to reply to such stupid posts like this.

You'll only see the surge if there presenting themselves for testing. I think the rate is 25% here for people giving two fingers to the contact tracing crew when they call.
It still had over 400 new cases yesterday which isn't great, the stats seem to be blocked for it, odd what are they hiding.

What about Djokovic and the other players all testing positive ?

Staying at home would be a much better option and I'd blame the coffee shop as much as the miscreants they are targeting. Why can't they manage takeaways like the rest of us?

How do you drink coffee through a mask, get woke go broke, writings on the wall for the meeow cafe..

If only there was another way to enjoy a coffee or eating out

In a few years I'll probably have to drink through a straw but for now I'd rather stay home than drink a decent coffee through a straw.

Where they not all in a nightclub at one stage recently? That might explain it

I'm not sure I fully get what you mean? It is completely natural for someone who goes to work in one of these coffee shops to expect people they are serving to be wearing masks. The argument around whether it is safe to be opening is a separate one to whether people should wear masks when they are getting served in a coffee shop that is open.

You can also just use a cup. It doesn't look all that hard to get food and drink under a face shield.

It's next to impossible to drink with a face shield . You obviously have never tried it. Eating with one on is not recommended either.

Outdoor transmission not a big factor

I certainly hope so. This was the scene 2 nights in a row just across the Irish Sea.

Liverpool is less than an hour away by air and Ryanair's best price was 16 Euro for a ticket here.

seems like there's a mass global movement of not giving a single **** right now. deeply worrying. the older and at risk groups must be terrified.

Face shields give better protection than cloth masks anyhow.

Those things are even less fun than face masks. The band across your forehead itches like mad and you keep banging into it with your hands or anything else. It's fine for a short while but for a meal no thank you!

It’s Liverpool winning the premier league for the first time in 30 years. A party was inevitable

But I’ve no concern about outdoor gatherings, even with no social distancing. The pubs are shut and so there’ll be no no Cheltenham or Florida spring break style indoor drinking afterwards that would more likely spread the virus. There’s been no evidence to date of outdoor gatherings leading to spikes, including the BLM protests

The issue here is were those parties confined to outdoor areas. I doubt it and I would say plenty of indoor areas where packed with under the counter parties for days. It will be interesting to watch the cases in that area over the next while.

Takeaway works fine, this we know. Eventually this will pass and smart arse comments are not good advertising.
