I didnt sign any petition. Jesus you really have nothing to post do you?

I have a screenshot saved of your name on that petition. I don`t know how to post it here (if some one else can do it then great) but if anyone wants to look at that site your name is definitely there near the end of the signatures list. Unless there is someone else who describes himself as Ginger n Lemon boards.ie addict on that list.

UK Professor on Prime Time, saying that according to their studies, there was no great effect in closing hardware or shoe stores for example unless they were overcrowded, after the initial business shut down in the first phase of the Lockdown

Lockdown must be really getting to you. Why in the gods name would I even consider signing such a petition? Because my posts here suggest that I want a further lockdown? I want to go into martial law Ireland for 4 more weeks to ensure 0 new cases?

Come on, you are better than that.

I don`t know about that. I was reprimanded by him for a similar comment the other day.

    He dishes it out alright....

Wasn't it on the other thread last night? I saw it too.

Now I know Ireland is not mentioned, but extremely worrying times nonetheless, if anything happens to Zara on Henry St then we are looking at 2 large empty buildings side by side for years to come

The owner of Zara will close as many as 1,200 stores around the world as the clothing retailer tries to boost online sales during the chaos wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic.

    https://www.theguardian.com/business/2020/jun/10/zara-owner-to-close-up-to-1200-fashion-stores-around-the-world
Not directly related to Henry's street per se
Just curious would Zara and monsoon clothing stores big names yes , but would there customer base be rather restricted at the best of times it would not be likely the type of store to have a large turnover,
And current state of affairs is just the nail in the coffin.

I'm not up to date on fashion so I could be totally wrong

The only thing I dish out is hard cold truth. Lockdown is not needed anymore - not 1 single day more.

Lifting restrictions does not lead to increases in new cases as evident here for weeks now and abroad. (for months now, Denmark a great example)

Only thing we disagree on in this thread is the speed of lifting restrictions.

Luke O Neill on with Ivan on Virgin media, this should be interesting

Going back to the middle of thread 2...Denmark reaches their peak of infections a few weeks before Ireland . They also shut down their borders , against the EU norm at the time , with some other countries . They did well because of that .

General consensus from this thread and something i regrettably agree with is that online sales are taking over rapidly. and covid was truly a final nail in the coffin.

There is a great interview with Mike Ashley (of all people lol) on youtube where he describes how he would propose to save high street stores (involving introducing 20% online sales tax etc) a very good listen if you have spare time.

You are as controversial as ever.

    I don't think that is controversial .
It is just cold , hard fact.

Luke O Neill on with Ivan on Virgin media, this should be interesting

"We are in this thing called the European Union" he absolutely destroyed him.

Luke wants social distancing 2 metres for "just another 6 weeks".

Thank god they got 15 minutes only.

    Not them.

The other crowd, the same crowd that thought travel from China in January was a good idea.

WHO envoy calls for mandatory face masks on public transport
Dr David Nabarro tells Oireachtas committee coverings are best protection against Covid-19

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/who-envoy-calls-for-mandatory-face-masks-on-public-transport-1.4276769?mode=sample&auth-failed=1&pw-origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.irishtimes.com%2Fnews%2Fhealth%2Fwho-envoy-calls-for-mandatory-face-masks-on-public-transport-1.4276769

And, yes, it is good news.

    My point stands.

We were never contemplating mandatory mask wearing, so it’s not news that that was confirmed.

Your clutching at straws, trying to make fake news.

Nice deflection attempt from my post re Ginger n Lemon. You might want to consider that without your whataboutery.
