    9 more deaths RIP

9 new cases (second day in a row)

Those 1000 scientists may end up getting what they want anyway

RIP, the 9 people who died.

Let's hope that the future cases will still be in single digits.

Awful to hear there's been 9 more deaths.

But I wonder where the people are who were telling me yesterday that 9 cases wasn't realistic because of weekend lag when I was happy about it yesterday

Great to see two days in a row with less than 10 cases.

It's more a question of whether of people are being referred over a weekend.

Those 1000 scientists? Have a look at the profession of many that signed the 'crush the curve' letter. Yes there is academics, scientists there is also stay at home Moms, unemployed, students, farmers, many teachers oh yeah and 'a wise old woman' ( her description).
The only signature missing was Mickey Mouse.

7 day average is unchanged from yesterday at 25ish, but it was 52 this time last week. A lot if this due to notable drops today and yesterday, would be great if these are not just outliers.

We need a week or so of all this shopping to get some signs of whether we are right down to the end of it.

One single case in Dublin is impressive. Galway were due to hit a week without a case today but registered 2. Plenty of counties with none, when you’ve only got 9.

9 cases two days in a row.

People keep going on about the amount of "active cases" at being whatever number tested positive in the prior fortnight, but you must remember that assuming these people have any cop on they are isolating and not spreading it.

Was it last week or the week before when Holohan said that of 500 odd cases in a week roughly 25% were community transmission?

The government needs to seriously give an estimate of how many people are out and about in the community with the virus. Outside of the meat plants, hospitals, nursing homes.

It's beginning to appear it could be below 100, if even that.

Probably more infected Italian rugby fans and Paddys Days tourists arrived than that

Prof. Nolan said in the Dail today (might have been yesterday not too sure) around 50% of cases are residential settings/workplace and 50% are private households.

Prof. Nolan said in the Dail today (might have been yesterday not too sure) around 50% of cases are residential settings/workplace and 50% are private households.

Private households would include family members/ housemates of medical workers, meat plant staff etc.

Seems the "out and about" rate is effectively zero. Some achievement given a very large percent of the population can't be bothered with distancing and never were bothered. It's almost as if it's a less virulent strain of it around now.
