Greedy sh!t. There'll be no hope of getting a refund. How are they able to sell something that is currently illegal? They really do what they want.

Feel sorry for the gullible punters thinking Santa ponsa on the cards.

Ryanair, Europe’s busiest airline, has led with price cuts on many of its routes in a bid to tempt families to gamble on the restrictions being lifted. But it said bookings for the summer months were still at roughly 50 per cent of what they would usually be.

So how are Italy, Spain and the rest of Europe getting on? (I'm going to ignore my own country's disaster in the UK). I seem to have gathered more info from Boards the past few months than any "proper" news site - journalism really poor in a once in a lifetime pandemic.

I'd be very careful of the "news" you gather from boards. Be most careful with "news" that confirms your instinctive biases.

TBF posters have in general linked widely to informed sources. Not all of it is nutjob or dubious territory. Observations too have been a notch or two above your average reporter!

The WHO are not doing themselves any favors chopping and changing their views literally every second day.
I would expect them to be more sure of there evidence before releasing there information.

I think the big issue is some officials speaking out of turn

No one knew anything about this virus ~6 months ago.

Science is not static and it is continuously updating what it knows about this virus, but there are still many unknowns.

It is not at all surprising that the evidence-based recommendations from the World Health Organization change.

This is the norm in science... nothing is written in stone and is always subject to change depending on the available evidence.

Dr Ryan and Dr Van Kerkhove, from the World Health Organization, explained their position on transmission in detail, about an hour ago on Facebook live.

They shouldnt be releasing any information unless they are 10000% certain. Lives are at risk here.

Absolutely no information in this world is 10000% certain.

You are asking for the impossible and thereby bolstering the Trump and Bolsonaro political agenda of undermining public trust in health experts and in science itself.

They would seem to be extremely efficient if they can learn that much re transmission in one day lol!

II would agree with that too, ACitizen what happened to erring on the side of caution.

Especially as Rob A says that the science keeps changing

3 more cases and no more deaths in NI. The island of Ireland is doing incredibly well certainly in comparison to GB

They've been very good about releasing information only after it has been confirmed by scientific studies, if you've watched any of their press conferences it has been very cautious and measured. It's mostly been a problem caused by the media, because the "common sense" crew have started taking actions on their own bat. I remember the panic about how there was no point trying to stop this virus when the notion of asymptomatic persons was first raised, and throughout the WHO have said they do not have enough evidence to make a judgement either way.

The only message they have been very clear on is that in the absence of clear information, governments needed to act fast.

It has been a long, few months but it's nice to see us keep on top of this thing on both sides of the border.
