Hope everyone is doing good. Elly is that your first hospital appointment that you are having at 18weeks? Exciting! You’ll get your green folder. Has the first trimester sickness started to lift for you?
Unfortunately I’m still not great still randomly getting sick. Two morning this week and Wednesday night! But it does lift after a while and then I’m ok. Just so busy with work and the kids that I don’t know if I’ll ever get that nice second trimester feeling!!!!! In the evenings I have a proper hard little bump, it’s cool. By morning it’s gone though.
What are ye doing about clothes? I’d say I have two weeks tops in my usual jeans! Have been looking at maternity clothes online and anything I like is sold out. I really miss the shops for things like this.
Also can’t wait for some normality, for the same reasons you outlined elly.
I know where you’re coming from though dubgal, if you’re not used to being out in it at the moment it’s pretty daunting. I didn’t leave the house for nearly four weeks and the few times I did I felt a bit vulnerable. I worry about my parents too. They don't need to cocoon but I’ve had to chat to my mum about how much she’s out and about because I worry about her! She’s doing shopping for some of her older friends and walking all the time but I suppose it keeps her sane and she’s very mindful of how to protect herself.

Have my anatomy scan on July second and next consultant app two weeks after. Need to make a gp appointment for two weeks time too. Just roll on November!!!

Best of luck with you app next week dubgal, great that you’ll hear the heartbeat. There’s nothing like it :)

Hey cant, yes that will be my first hospital/consultant visit @ 18 wks and my anomaly is the day after yours the 3rd July. Should I have a GP visit before 18wks do you think? I was considering going for a private scan to find out gender but I think I’ll hold off until anomaly. I’m assuming our other halves still won’t be allowed come with us at that stage so hopefully sonographer can tell the gender and will write it down for me and we’ll open it as a family.

Sorry to hear your still feeling crap with the sickness. You’re probably right in that your so busy with the kids and work your prob not getting enough chill and down time. Hopefully it passes soon. Happy 2nd Trimester Day ☺️ I’ve actually been ok. The odd evening I’m napping. And I still can’t stomach certain foods but I’m making more of an effort to eat a proper dinner, before I was just having a sambo most evenings or picking at stuff. I find if I don't drink enough water throughout the day then I feel crap. I’m not a big water lover but I’m pushing to drink up to 2ltrs a day.

I still haven’t put a regular pair of jeans on in weeks. I got a pair of the poco maternity jeans on sale, I went up a size and they are too big on me. I did wear them to work Thursday but I’d say another 4 weeks before they’ll proper fit me. I’ve looked at a few sites but haven’t been tempted to buy anything yet. Want to wait a few more weeks until I have a proper pump. Will probably try pick up a few summer dresses especially if weather will be nice!

We’re very lucky my sister has offered us pretty much all he big stuff we’ll need for the baby. Pram, bottle maker, steriliser, car seat, isofix, co sleeper cot so I’m delighted with all of that. Will save us a fortune and it’s all in such good condition. It’s exciting talking about it openly now ☺️

    yay for the second trimester!!
I haven’t seen my gp at all yet so that’s why I’m going at 16 weeks. Had my consultant app at 11+3 and he said gp between 16 and 18 but I’d say it’s different for everyone.

Yes I called the secretary the day I got my appointment for the scan to see if my husband could go and she said it’s highly unlikely. It’s a pity but I understand at the same time. That’s a lovely idea to write it down. When I got the call about the harmony test results I was asked if I wanted to know the gender or did I want it posted out...I got her to tell me straight away! Thinking about it now it would’ve been nice to do it together. Oops!

That’s so great that you are getting so much off your sister. We don’t need much. Kept the travel system I had on my last so that’s perfect. My friend has just offered me her cosleeper as I didn’t have one with the boys. I think i just need a new monitor and a decent breast pump and that’s about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 507 ✭✭✭elly123

Yeah I haven’t seen my GP either. I’ll drop them a mail next week to see what plan is.

We had got rid of everything about 2/3 yrs ago when we decided we wouldn’t go again 🙈
Actually breast pump & monitors are both things we need. I’m going to try breast feed this time around. Last time baby wouldn’t latch. But this time I’m actually considering investing in a lactation consultant pre and post pregnancy. I was so clueless first time around and just assumed it would work, midwives tried everything but it just wasn’t happening lactation nurse in Hosp came around 3 days later but by that stage I had caved and gave formula. I felt like such a failure and lactation nurse made me feel even worse. Was like she totally dismissed me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 578 ✭✭✭cant26

I tried to sell my travel system last year but ended up putting it in the actic and I’m so glad I did. It’s perfect as is the car seat and base. I bought new travel systems and car seat/bases on both boys and it’s such a chunk!

We still have an angel monitor on the go almost seven years later but it’s on it’s last legs and really want a video one and had a manual pump that still gives me nightmares so want a decent electric one but nothing to crazy because it prob won’t be used much!

That’s awful that you were made feel like that. Seriously so hit and miss with support on breastfeeding. I didn’t even try to feed my first but really wanted to feed my second. I loved it but had so many stumbles. I was in hospital for over a week with him so in one way it was great to find my feet with feeding but I also had to pump and dump for few days due to me needing CT scans so he got formula on and off in hospital. His weight was always an issue and I saw so many PHN’s to get him weighed! I ended up throwing in the towel when he was four months when he was about to referred for failing to thrive :( really want it to be a better experience this time. I loved feeding him but like you felt a bit of a failure when his weight kept dropping. Also probably didn’t help myself because I didn’t engage the help of a LC and will definitely be doing it this time. Hopefully COVID won’t impact the ability to do that!

Oh happy days that’s a god send that you didn’t sell it in the end. My sister was the same she was putting everything up for sale. She has a bugaboo and used it on both her boys. She was talking about selling it but just never got around to it. Lucky me ☺️

I had borrowed a breast pump from a friend first time around but never used it. BF is such a personal journey and what works for one doesn’t work for another. My nipples were raw and bleeding after 24hrs of trying to feed and midwives literally squeezing them to try get baby to latch. Baby was screaming, we tried every different position but nothing worked. He was a stubborn and lazy little git ☺️ He didn’t want to work for his grub! His weight to height was always off. He was always under weight. We ended up going to a private consultant with him at just over a yr because he ate nothing. But we were literally told he’ll grow out of the phase and put him on a tonic to try boost his immune because he was always catching colds and got bad ear infections. He’s still not a good eater he’s skin and bone but quite tall for his age. You could take him for a 9yr old.

I really hope your journey this time around is much smoother. Poor you it must have been frightening for you on your second having to have the ct scans and heart breaking pumping and dumping, I can imagine that’s really tough.

Can’t believe you also know what your having. That’s lovely. At least you can look at the right colours etc. I’m not in a rush to find out but I do want to know. Does it make it seem more real knowing? Everyone thinks it’s a girl for me but I’m not convinced. I think it could be another boy. I think family and friends are more hoping it’s a girl. We have 3 boys and one girl on my side so my mam would love another little girl. On my husbands side it’s 4 girls and one boy so I’m sure my FIL would love another boy 😄 I honestly don’t mind as long as baby is healthy.

Hi ladies, thanks for your good wishes for the first appointment. Had it yesterday and all went well, heard that lovely heartbeat! We've started telling more family and friends now which is great and makes it all feel more real, starting to get excited about the next stages now. Got an anomaly scan appointment for July too so great to have the next milestone date in.
Hope everyone's doing well this week!

Awh Dubgal absolutely delighted to hear all went well and that you got to hear babys heart beat that's so lovely. I'd say you were on cloud 9 after the appointment. I think having appointment dates is great, it definitely gives us something to look forward to.

I ordered a couple of bits this week to cater for my body expanding :) I just went up a size in most bits and got maternity leggings and a dress hopefully they are nice & fit and i won't have to send them back :)

Hope everyone else is feeling good :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 51 ✭✭DubGal123

Thanks Elly, it's a brilliant feeling alright!!
That's exciting to have a few maternity bits. I was thinking of starting to get a few things this weekend myself. I'm just really at the bloated stage myself at the moment so doing grand in my clothes but would like to be prepared when the bump does make an appearance!! Where did you order the maternity bits from do you mind me asking? Thinking I will def order a few flowy summer dresses for the next few months anyway, should serve me well and will do after pregnancy too - hopefully the summer isn't a washout!!

I am a bit like that myself with the bloating. Yesterday i was in my normal jeans and jumper and didn't look pregnant, today i feel huge. I seemed to have a lot stretching going on over night and woke up this morning with stretching achy pain and looking a lot more round.

I just got my bits from boohoo, they don't have a massive selection, i literally just got leggings and a summer dress in maternity. The other bits are just basics in a size up.
I will prob try hold off for another couple of weeks and just try add one or two bits as needed every few weeks. My style is very very basic :)

On my first i picked up jeans from Topshop, a few bits from new look, littlewoods and mothercare. I checked littlewoods today and didn't see much on that. I much prefer over the bump jeans as the belly expands. I found under the bump fine until about 22/23 weeks and then they started to roll as i got bigger. Serephine seems to have some lovely bits, i have never ordered from them but I have read on another thread on boards that they have some good quality stuff i might treat myself in a couple of weeks to something from there :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 351 ✭✭Hazelnut Button

Jumping in from Sept thread. I've ordered a few bits from Seraphine. A little bit more expensive but I have to say the quality is really good. I got one pair over bump jeans & leggings, 1 t shirt, 2 jumpers and 2 work tops. Stuff arrived with 2 or 3 days.

Edit: just opened my email and they're doing 20% off dresses. Code is newdress.

  • Registered Users Posts: 51 ✭✭DubGal123

Thanks for the tips ladies! Think I'll def treat myself to some bits from seraphine they do seem highly recommended, and I've heard boohoo and topshop recommended for maternity before too. I'm gonna try not go crazy shopping as I think I wear a lot of looser fitting stuff anyway so hope I won't need too much - but it does seem like a nice treat to look at this stuff now that we're into the second trimester :)
Was also talking to my husband about buggies and stuff just there, were so clueless about everything that's needed so will have to start thinking about that soon. I'd say he'll be mad into looking at the pros and cons of different products, so hoping he'll take the lead on some of the shopping on that side of things!

    Hi guys,

I am hoping it is ok to post here. I am 17 weeks and have high BP that I am on trandate for. I am being monitored closely due to this, and I have been plagued with exhaustion, headaches, mygrains (the kind that make me go blind and vomit for 8 -24 hours) and just generally feeling like crap since week 6 i'd say.

My doctor told me today that she wants to sign me off work, and I am concerned. She tells me that I am protected and that I will not loose my job (I've been with them 3 years and I have a very good rapport with my manager and a good reputation). I feel incredibly guilty and concerned that this could affect my maternity leave.

I would appreciate any advice with this? thank you.

  • Registered Users Posts: 51 ✭✭DubGal123

Hi Rueboo, congrats on your pregnancy but sorry to hear you've been having such a tough time!!
I don't really have any advice as such other than recommend you listen to your doctor. I can totally understand your feelings though, it's natural to feel like you're letting work down etc. and I think I'd be the exact same - but at the end of the day we need to learn that our health and our babies come first. I'm also sure that your company will be understanding, any reasonable employer would not want to see you suffer or put your health at risk. Not to say that they won't be disappointed on a personal level to lose you for quite a while, especially as an employee with a good reputation as a hard worker - but I'm sure they would put that disappointment aside and recognise that your health comes first.
Not to mention, that there are strong legal protections in place for pregnant women so they can't be discriminated against. I don't know the specific requirements around maternity leave / sick leave but I'd be very surprised if being signed off early sick due to the pregnancy could affect your maternity entitlement. Do work know about your pregnancy yet?
Hope you can come to a decision soon - do try think of your own health and well-being, plus baby! It's not easy when you are conscious of work commitments but it has to be done.
    Take care of yourself!

    Hi All,

Hope you are all keeping well. I had my first hospital consultant app this morning. All went great, baby measuring good and doc happy with what she saw. I've to think about how i want to deliver. I've a lot to think about. She gave me the option of tying my tubes if i opt for section. Its not something i considered even though i'm 100% that this will be my last baby. My husband is 100% behind whatever i choose. I need to weigh up the pro's and cons of both the vbac and section and also tubes been tied vs leaving them. If i go with section I will be brought in to have the section a week early which would be my bday :) It would be a lovely bday present.

Big scan now on the 3rd July to look forward it :) Although i have a sneaky feeling my hubby will want to go for a private scan between now and then to find out the sex and also see the baby.

Face masks seem to be compulsory in the Coombe also. I had my own with me. Next time i will opt for the disposable one. I got very claustrophobic with the material one on me and it kept fogging up my glasses!

Ooh I'm interested in the tubes conversation. This will be my third section and last baby so def something I'm leaning towards. Are you public or private?

Hey Heldel, I’ve been thinking about the tubes a lot today. I’m still undecided but I’m swaying towards not having them done but I have 7 wks to really think about it. I’m also swaying towards elective section too. I had no issues dilating last time around and was pushing for half an hour before the emergency section. I don’t think I can put myself through all that again especially known that I have a really tight and tense pelvic floor so the chance of baby not progressing again is high.

    I’m public in the Coombe.

Hi ladies, a good friend of mine had her tubes tied after her last section.... baby number 4!

She was given the option after section number 3 and even tho it’s not advised to have a forth section she said she just didn’t feel done after her third baby. She talked in depth with her consultant about everything. She decided to go again for number 4 and I believe her consultant was on board with everything. But there was no doubt in her mind she would get her tubes done after section 4. So immediately after the birth of number 4 they were done and she’s delighted with her 4 babies and doesn’t have to worry anymore about getting pregnant again.

This is my fourth baby but I haven’t had any sections... husband and I have discussed him getting the snip after this one. Not in any great detail but I think when we discuss it again he will prob go ahead...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 507 ✭✭✭elly123

I feel i'm 100% done after this baby. I was done at 1 for the last 7 years :) well I wasn't wholeheartedly but my husband was, he's a worrier but then had a complete change of heart in January out of the blue! So although I say i'm 100% done after this baby i just don't know and don't want the option taking from me yet :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,832 ✭✭✭heldel00

Well i started googling at 11pm last night and that's never a good thing!
As i said this will be my 3rd section but had a massive problem after section number 2 that I'm really only getting better from in the past 6 months so I'd day this will be offered to me.
Husband 100% on board that he will have snip after this baby anyway but I'm thinking shure when you're in there already you may as well work away!!!

I would be of the same opinion heldel, do it while they're in there. She said it is a 5 min job while having the section. I'm 99.9% sure i'm done after this baby, but there is that tiny piece of me that is swaying me towards not having the tubes done just in case :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 267 ✭✭Lizardlegz

I’m 100% done after this baby also. But I’m letting himself get the snip!! Lol. But yes my friend said if you’re in for a section and your having surgery for that with anaesthetic anyway it was so easy to get the tubes done at the same time and only took an extra few minutes. X

  • Registered Users Posts: 578 ✭✭✭cant26

Interesting conversation to be having. We are definitely done after this baby. I haven’t had a sections so not sure if this is an option if the situation led to an emergency section?
Being honest I don’t think I’d be comfortable getting it done myself.
My husband is 100% onboard with getting the snip! We jokingly toyed with the idea after number two but we were early 30’s and felt we were too young to close the door. Once this baby arrives I’d say he will get the skates on. Will be great to not have to figure out contraception again!

Lol I think I’m your sista from another mista.... I don’t think I’d be comfortable getting it done. But I’d be totally comfortable him getting it done. I just think because maybe it’s not as permanent for males or something and it’s an easier procedure. But I’d prob think differently if I knew I was having aN elective section or something? I don’t know...

Haha I know what you mean, I’m the same. Hopefully it won’t be a section for with of us. Also totally agrees about the V not being as permanent. Not that we’d be changing our minds but still!

Oh that’s brilliant I’m defo feeling bit but my husband could feel the baby kick at 21 weeks on my first. I know they are different, I’m probably just so busy this time that I’m not noticing as much. Also the anatomy scan is coming up and I’m just feeling a bit antsy until it behind us and please god all will be well. Have you had yours yet?

I'm feeling small movement but not very frequent. I was the same on my first. I was closer to 20/21 weeks before my husband could feel the movement.

We caved and booked a private scan for next week to find out gender and for hubby to see baby. We plan on not finding out there and then but asking them to write it down and put it in an envelope for our son to open and reveal to us. I hope he's not disappointed :):) He wants a brother.

Hope you are all keeping well :)

Think we are due around the same time and I’m feeling about the same so might chill a bit now!

Lovely idea about the private scan, so nice to involve your son.

All ok here, bump has truly popped. Omg!!! Work is extremely busy and kids are busy so don’t get a second.
Hope all good with you :)

Elly that’s such a lovely idea! Hope you enjoy the scan!

Cant26 I wouldn’t be worried about the movements... very pregnancy is so different and maybe you’ve just got a happy wee content Chilled out baby in There. I’m sure you’ll start feeling more in the next few weeks.

Yes my anatomy scan is next week (I think) I’ll be around 21-22 weeks then. I always get a bit nervous about the 20 week scan. So I hope all goes well.

Talked to husband about the V subject. And he’s defo happy to go ahead. Yay! Lol

    Happy Friday all :D

I was laughing at both you gals Lizardlegs and cant re: let the men get the V. Your dead right. My husband is also on board with getting it done. I might even pay for it for his bday :D:D (i joke)

I was reading back over my notes about my first pregnancy and my god i had forgot so much. The only real difference between this pregnancy and my last was the MS. I was constantly sick on my first, on this one I was nauseous but only sick once. I seem to be carrying the same way. I'm convinced now its another boy :)

Woohoo on the V talk!!!! My husbands company changed health insurance plans this week and with the new one you pick three extra packages and my husband said he picked one of the extras that covers vasectomy....I’ll take that as he’s onboard!

What a birthday present elly!!! That’s great that you can go back on your notes. I have a chart for each pregnancy but only get to hold onto the current one. Still haven’t gotten that yet though!

We had our scan yesterday and it was amazing. It was so good to see the baby and hear the heartbeat for the first time and to enjoy it with my husband. It was so reassuring. Again just like the dating scan baby wasn't playing ball so we didn't get to see her little face, but we got a thumbs up :)

The did out the envelope for us and put a big pink love heart in it. My son wasn't overly happy at first but he has come around and is making plans already on how they can reach the biscuit jar together :) He is obsessed with cuddly toys so we got him the teddy with the heartbeat and he has already falling in love with his little sister :)

Aw that’s lovely, a little girl. Such a cute way to involve the whole family.
So funny that your son wasn’t happy at the start. Their honesty is so refreshing! My eldest really wants a sister and my youngest wants a brother.
Was that an anatomy scan you had?
I thought mine was tomorrow week but it’s actually tomorrow two weeks. Doubt my husband will be let attend which is a pity.

No it was a private scan I booked as my husband won’t be allowed attend my anotomy scan in the Hosp so I wanted him to be able to see baby. I also wanted to find out the gender just incase it wasn’t an option at the hospital scan.

How’s everyone doing? Happy Friday! All ok here. Feel like my bump has exploded in the last week, omg I’m huge. It’s very high so actually a bit uncomfortable, which is hilarious considering I’m only 21 weeks tomorrow.
Have my big scan next Thursday, so apprehensive. Has anyone had theirs? Feeling good for the most part but find as the week goes on I start falling!
By Friday I’m useless. Working fulltime, and the kids are full on and it doesn’t help that my husband is working US time so as soon as I come in the door from the office it’s straight into full on mummy mode! I’m wrecked. Bloody coronavirus!
Hope ye are all feeling well :)

Hi Cant! Great to hear the update. That's exciting your bump has popped! I'm just at the halfway mark myself and not much of an obvious bump yet - but it's my first baby so think things can take a bit longer.

Best of luck with your big scan this week! Will be great to get that done and out of the way. Mines not for 2 weeks so I haven't really started getting apprehensive yet, but I know I will be a nervous wreck when the time comes! Looking forward to having it done though as it will be a nice milestone to reach - hopefully all goes okay.

Feeling fine generally - some days a little bit tired - but I'm still working from home so I think it really helps not having a commute! Will be a shock to the system when I'm back in the office. Can only imagine what I would be like if I had kids to look after too though, must be tough going - hope you can get a little bit of a rest at some stage over the weekend!

    Hi ladies,

Hope youre all well! I had my anaomaly scan last week. All went well thank god! was quite anxious beforehand but it was such a relief to get it done and have baby all healthy. Such reassurance, but god you never stop worrying till theyre in your arms really do you! so im about 23 weeks now. Feeling good but do get a bit tired around 3pm for an hour or so then im fine again! found the heat the last day awful. Would have been fine if id had some decent light weight clothes to out on but i was out in the park with big black jeans and black top.... was only fit to collapse when i got home!

    Hi Ladies,

Good to hear your all doing well and Lizard legs delighted your scan went well, its very reassuring. Ladies hats off to you working and looking after small kids, there's no minding in my guy, i'm working part time and i'm exhausted most days.

I felt like i was flying up until about wk 19. I was doing a bit of yoya and still jogging but i feel like now I've hit a wall. some days i feel enormous. I've started to get achy legs, feet are swelling a little, runners are getting tighter on me and now have round ligament pain in my tummy and groin. This is new to me, I didn't have it on my last pregnancy. I had this vision in my head that i would really embrace this pregnancy and i would be really active etc. but how i feel now is the total opposite to what i imagined!!

I have my scan on Friday and the nerves are slowly creeping in, its 9:15am so i don't have all day to wait thankfully. I'm feeling movement most days but nothing my hubby would be able to feel yet. I still haven't had my first GP appointment. They had said around 24 weeks but i'm back with consultant at 25 weeks so i think i might try book in next week with them. Have you ladies being to your GP yet?

Hi everyone. Was great to read everyone’s updates. Great that your scan went well lizardlegz. I had mine this morning and thank god all is looking good. Was sick with nerves beforehand. I had the harmony test done but there’s so many other scenarios I was thinking of so just beyond relieved now.
Elly best of luck in the morning, you’ll be delighted to have it over you early.
Had a hard enough week. Ended up in hospital on Sunday. Was so strange, felt terrible. Thankfully all was ok but my consultant put me on bed rest until today. I was climbing the walls with boredom but it definitely thought me a lesson. Need to slow down slightly and listen to my body a bit more.
Hope everyone is feeling good and thank god the weekend is just around the corner!

Hi there, hope everyone is keeping well! And Cant26 especially hope you are feeling okay after your scare - it is very easy to overdo it isn't it, so definitely a good lesson to take on board to slow down.
I had my anatomy scan during the week and just wanted to ask how everyone else had found their covid era scans?! I'm feeling a bit weirdly underwhelmed by mine if I'm honest, I was told everything looked okay and I'm grateful for that but the scan itself was just incredibly short - we're talking well under 10 minutes, it was like a whirlwind! I had just read so much about the anatomy scan being very detailed and the technician needing a lot of concentration and time to get everything right - it's hard to believe they could get everything they need so quickly. I'm sure they got all the key measurements etc. but I just feel a bit strange after it, it's such a big milestone in your head and I was in and out in a flash. I thought maybe it's a covid thing to try reduce the length of the scans - how have you found yours in terms of length / level of detail?
I think myself and hubby are going to do another private scan maybe around 30 weeks so that we can get a better look anyway!
How is everyone doing besides the scans anyway? I know some of ye are not first timers so you're probably not too bad on the preparations front - I'm thinking we need to get started thinking about buggies and cribs soon!

Hi DubGal, I’m also a first timer, my scan is supposed to be next week but I got a phonecall on Thursday to say they’ll have to cancel it due to a “service disruption”. I also had the impression that you’d be given more information than, “everything is fine”... I mean, obviously, that’s marvellous news but more detail would be nice wouldn’t it!

I’m going to try book a private scan for next week instead. We were going to book one anyway given that it’s our first and my OH can’t come for a look too but we probably would have waited a few weeks. I get the impression that when you’re paying for the privilege they’ll give you a bit more time and attention.. fingers crossed!

    Hey all,

Hope your all keeping well. Cant26 hope your doing well and resting.

I can’t remember how long my anatomy scan took maybe 10/15 mins. But I felt really reassured after it, sonographer chatted through all the measurements And details with me. I think it can be real hit or miss with sonographers, some are really friendly and make you feel relaxed and others are a bit cold and stern I find.
I was at the gp Friday and she sent me to the Hosp. I’m measuring 4 wks ahead so she wanted me assessed and for fluid to be checked around the baby, it was a total waste of time. They booked an appt for me for 2moro to see my team and told me to go to scanning to book in for a scan for tomorrow. Senior sonographer called me and basically told me she wouldn’t be booking me in for Monday because I only had my anatomy scan 2 wks ago and all was fine and that my previous pregnancy and baby was a normal size. She was a bit dismissive on the phone and basically told me to cancel 2moros appt with the consultant and to go back in a week. I was so confused so I called my gp and she told me to keep the appt for tomorrow as she would be happier if I’m assessed by the team and let them decide if I should be scanned. So back to the Hosp I go tomorrow!!

I am feeling fit to burst, I’m sleeping an average 2.5hrs a day aswel as 7/8hrs at night, I thought I’d be full of energy at this stage!

    Hi ladies,

Thanks for the responses. So sorry to hear your anatomy scan was cancelled altogether BawnyD! That must be very disappointing, it's long enough between appointments at this stage, very disappointing to have a big one like the scan cancelled. I'd imagine you'll have a much better experience at the private scan with your OH anyway - I think they just gave that bit more time to go through things in detail with you and put your mind at ease. Hope it goes well for you!
Glad to hear yours went well Elly and you felt good after it. It sounds like you've been given the run around lately though! Fair play to your GP for insisting you get checked out. I hope the appointment today went well for you, and that you and baby are doing okay!

Hi Ladies, How are ya all doing?
All good here, had growth scan and bloods etc and back in the hosp Monday week. Counting the weeks down now :)
Hoping i wont need glucose test but so far no sign of sugars in my urine thankfully. Think i'm just having a big baby.
Sitting working away at the kitchen table and today is the first day i have noticed my bump is actually sitting on my lap, the weight of it!! Hope you all have a lovely weekend :)

Hi Elly, glad to hear you had the growth scan in the end and got some reassurance from that.
Not too much to report here but I feel good thankfully. My bump is still not too big, it's my first so I think they say that's a factor! I'm sure it will pop properly at some stage soon! I do have an appointment this week so looking forward to that as it feels like a long time since the booking apt now at this stage. Will be nice to have a check in.
Hope everyone else is doing well!
