That's not what I was asking. Leo and the government gave a date of 18th for phase one. Businesses are gearing up to open Monday. The mood music from Holohan and Co is they have yet to make the decision as to whether the restrictions will start to lift Monday.
Yeah, but they are always like that. "Hopeful" is good!

Dr Holohan will explain shortly.....apparently it's a backlog going back weeks, not new overnight cases

Okay, one hospital failing to do their job. Compiled weeks of stats but didn't send them up the line!

Probably UHW - about their level.

The numbers are going back to March.

Oh, 426 is due to a delay they're saying.
    Yep over a long period.

Ah seriously **** off, the day before the announcement of lifting of restrictions they decide to pull this stunt. Do they think we are idiots.

Why a delay ? Can we believe any of the figures as true or nearly true figures

There’s his excuse to delay phase 1

Was always going to happen I'm afraid. Phase 1 will more than likely be put on hold now I'd say. Groups out acting the bo llox last couple of weeks with no f u cks given. Lack of masks and messaging of importance I put squarely at the door of government and people refusing to take responsibility.

    Not reported by a hospital.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,443 ✭✭✭✭stephenjmcd

So one hospital didn't report figures until now, how is that even allowed when cases go back to March.

Roughly 140 cases again when you take out this hosptial reporting all in one go.

So nobody in the dept knew about this ?

So today's figure excluding that backlog is about 140, did I hear correct?

A lot of people will not dig down and just see the 426 headline figure.

I can't fathom why they would report backlogged cases in the same way as the daily cases knowing that people follow the daily updates to get a feel for the progress we're making.

I heard the other guy saying the real number is 'under 200'

A bit daft how they report the case numbers to be honest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,030 ✭✭✭xabi

Jesus, the drama queens in here. Today’s number is in line with expectations, 140 I think he said.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,750 ✭✭✭✭ACitizenErased

140 is grand. But how did one hospital get 300 cases?

They've gone out of their way to point out they are not current. Think it's actually under 200.

    What stunt?

A big number today then say because of that restrictions can’t be eased on May 18th

Because then you'd have the same people that don't watch the conferences giving out that they're covering up cases.

Since March, about 10 per day. They obviously messed up reporting.
