What a waste of money that is . Would of been better spent giving it to the local men’s shed or tidy towns

Ah it's nice. No mens sheds on for 5 weeks with isolation.

I see a lot of people in the shops with face masks; where are you mask wearers getting them or ordering them from?

  • Registered Users Posts: 531 ✭✭✭Telecaster58

Just watched the 6.01 News and there was an item on people dumping rubbish illegally at beauty spots. The item covered County Meath and a spokesperson from the council was saying it was totally unnecessary as the recycling plants were open and that they weren't charging to dump at the moment. Does anyone know if Silliot Hill is open and if it's free?

It’s open but it’s not free. I was there 3 times during the week as I’m currently moving house.

I think I saw both Daly’s and Burke’s pharmacies are selling boxes of them I am sure other pharmacies are also If I remember correctly 70 or 80 Euro for a box of 50 single use masks.

I see travellers have set up shop on the new Devoy link road beside Elsmore. Right in the entrance to the new business centre under construction beside Kildare CoCo

lets hope they get moved on for congregating in groups

I just thought about it though, when they say you are only allowed out in groups with family members, they could probably pass for that if there were 20-30 of them altogether

    Helicopters flying overhead again
Noticed it the last few nights, looks like an army one and they circle Monread Pk 2-3 times before moving on

    Yes they take general waste.

    Load your car/van/trailer up

They ask you what your dumping. We are dumping general waste.

Drive in and your vehicle gets weighed.

There is then massive 40ft skip containers where you dump your stuff.

Then your vehicle is weighted again.

Then you pay - card only

    Then off you go.

We had a full Renault scenic with seats down full of mixed waste.

Paid around 13 euro a trip.

Opening Hours: 08:00 – 15:45, Monday – Friday (closed on Saturdays and Bank Holidays)

They will be moved on within the hour for not adhering to social distancing. I heard of 2 stories already in the curragh where gangs pulled up, but were swiftly moved on after they realised they could be arrested.

What about electrical goods? Is there a fee for this? I heard it is free in Ballymount but i didn't want to risk it with guarda checkpoints.

Why not drop your electrical goods at power city. You can still do that even if the shop is closed.

I've never been charged for electrical goods at Silliot Hill. Those bins are in a separate area to general waste, just tell them at the gate and they'll direct you.

You can always just get a skip from any of the waste management companies.

Could anyone recommend or PM a good roofer for the Naas area for when things get back to normal? There is 2 small holes in the flashing which have started to leak into the ceiling roof in the utility room in the house. Thanks

Don't need to go to the curragh anymore now. They've opened up a local branch beside the osprey last night ðŸ‘

Few more roofers and tarmac specialists on the way to join them to at the moment - maybe not connected but a Main Street shop broken into last night as well..
