    The original was released by a group called The Family back in 1985.
    The Family were one of the many bands that Prince tried to manage in the early to mid 80s.

    Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse - Valerie. Nowhere near as good as the original, but it's decent enough.

    Alabama 3 - Speed of the Sound of Loneliness. Ah crap, I love the Pixies, but have to go with my nomination.

    Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Blinded by the Light. Great song and a great cover.

    Camper Van Beethoven - Pictures of Matchstick Men. I nearly nominated a Manics cover of a CVB song, but it wasn't a single so I left it out. So to make up for it I'm going for this.

    Okay, I gave the first two a bit more of a listen. The Creedence song is a bit bland, but the Stevie Ray Vaughan tune has great blues guitar playing. So:
