The original was released by a group called The Family back in 1985.
The Family were one of the many bands that Prince tried to manage in the early to mid 80s.
The first time a Prince version was released was in 1993 as part of the Greatest Hits collection. There Prince performed it as a kind of a duet with Rosie Gaines, one of the members of The New Power Generation

Okay, I gave the first two a bit more of a listen. The Creedence song is a bit bland, but the Stevie Ray Vaughan tune has great blues guitar playing. So:
