This thread is pretty pointless if we haven't s clue what's to be announced May 5

If the whole world decided to go out tomorrow and buy just one mask, the global supply will drop so low that healthcare workers in even the most critical areas won't have access to them. There is no doubt about that.

Yes but China, USA, Poland, Czech Republic, Poland, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Holland and god knows how many more countries have either ordered or advised their populations to mask up. The Global demand is already there.

You are right (IMO) that health professionals washing out masks is ridiculous. In fact this nonsense of people making their own from napkins or using scarves also seems pretty dubious but that is what you get when you try to BS people.

Are they done with being humiliated?

Schools won't be open in May. I can guarantee you that.

But they are flying flags about one day a week. You might be right though.

Indications are 2 more weeks based on comments from all of Leo, Simon and Tony.

I'm reading on another forum, people experiencing symptoms for 40+ days. They are up and down in symptoms. Many saying they feel like they are over the worst of it but any exertion is leading to some chest pains and exhaustion. These would be considered mild cases, mild as in not needing hospital admissions.

I had a fever about 4 weeks ago, followed by diarrhea, loss of appetite, hot flushes, found it hard to stay warm, dry cough (mild), heavy head like a hangover that lasted a week, i've had a couple of rashes and hives, pressure feeling in my sinuses, but sinuses very dry and warm. Worst of it lasted a week, then another week of up and down, even now 4 weeks later if i exert myself at all i feel like i need to take deep breaths and my heart feels under pressure.

I was never tested and even as i describe my symptoms above i was never very sick. I would describe it as mild. I hope they get antibody tests soon that can be bought as i'd love to know if it was covid.

I think there will be some easing of restrictions on the 5th of May. Not very much of an easing but something so that people feel we are moving in the right direction.

Dr Birx is still struggling to get her head around what he was on about last night.

3 of us in the house, one of them got similar to me but much milder and was over in 5 or 6 days. The other person less again, mild dry cough only.

Literally the only things we have in common with new Zealand is population size and being an island. New Zealand is way bigger than us. It's even bigger than the UK. Also we're 2 hours away from so many major cities, London, Paris, Rome, Milan, Berlin to name a few. There's absolutely no comparison.

It would be great to know, i feel fine now so long as i don't exert myself. So i don't know if that is due to some sort of post viral fatigue or the virus i had still hanging about.

You really don't give a damn do you?

This constant nonsense comparing this to a flu is infantile at this stage

I'm just thankful you are not typical of the majority of decent people taking this seriously, even though it has a huge impact on their lives.

Seriously, what do you want people to do?

As soon as restrictions are lifted cases go up anyways.

The reason we have a major spread of infection in Ireland is because of our governments non existent efforts at preventing it getting into the country and after that from getting into nursing homes.

If you want to point a finger of blame you could start there instead of attacking kids playing with their mates. Making every kid feel like a murderer for talking with their friend is a bit much. Go after those in power who failed to act in a timely way when they were forewarned in January and February and ignored all warnings.

We don't have to compare with NZ. We can compare with Vietnam or Taiwan both of which have either long borders with China or had regular air and ferry traffic to mainland China. There are a number of other countries too who have managed to keep it under control who border Italy and you also have Portugal who have a long border with Spain. Plenty to choose from.

Out of interest, any of you overweight, obese or underlying conditions that may cause a weak immune system?
