Imagine the societal scar if we just let elderly people die off in such a blatant way? The whole concept of how we view civilized would be thrown on its head.

You are aware that 605 of our deaths were Nursing Home and Long Care Residential Units clients?

Ah no. There’s a vocal cohort that clearly don’t. More specifically they don’t want others to return to their normality

    Link for that information please?

It's 60% of our deaths. 605 would be over 90%.

No definitely not just them. But generally people that live fairly closed lives with limited educational and career experiences. They feel on one level this is a leveller. I can see it from the comments.

The people with "open lives and more educational and career experience" can be the most scummy.
Not to worry, there is a 92 year old dude in hospital hooked up to life-support that is giving them a big thumbs-up for the extra few weeks of 'life' he's been given.

But trust boards to eventually get around to finding a way to bìtch about those on social welfare :pac:

    Impressive.

I would. That's a massive invasion of privacy and liberty and who knows how it would be used. No thanks, Gardai asking people where they're going is more than enough for me. Don't need my phone doing that too and feeding to others.

And a dollop of "liberty" nonsense aswell. What do you have to hide?

Piece in the examiner today that suggests construction sites will be up and running again for certain projects (social housing etc). Sounds like a sensible move. No interaction with the general public, controlled site access, good candidate for initial measures.

Another middle finger to the taxpayer, so the rest of us waiting for somewhere to live don't matter because we are actually paying for our house? Ridiculous.

Course- social welfare is at the core of this debate- did you miss the almost 1 million forced into welfare payments via this lockdown?

I’ve nothing to hide. But that doesn’t mean I have to share it with all and sundry. Have some posters entered 1984?

Yes yes battery heavy so you keep saying.

I would have absolutely no problem with my every step being traced tbh if it's for the benefit of us all.

That's fine, but I'm saying thousands would have an issue so therefore i do not think this option is viable.

No but if its necessary to bring about the easing of restrictions then why would you be scared? I get why drug dealers or gangland types would be against it, and I guess those having affairs aswell but I see no other reason to oppose it.

For some people 'normality' hasn't changed one iota with the lockdown. Others are happy with the lockdown as it suits their warped view of how society should operate.

The median age for hospitalisation is 48.

"Median" means there are as many cases below that point as above it. It is NOT the "average", which is different.

There are as many under 48 year olds admitted to hospital with COVID 19 as there are over-48 year olds.

That's wrong to be fair. There are definitely not as many under 48 admitted to hospital.

48 is the median age of those WITH the Virus.

The median age of those hospitalised hasn't been released as far as I'm aware

Who are these people? You're just making these people up, like the mythical vegans who go around telling everyone they're vegan.

Folks, stay indoors ( unless you are exercising within your permitted radius). Please listen to what the experts are saying. I have noticed people walking in my estate who I know for a fact live more than two kms away. I open my window and give them a piece of my mind when I see them.( I have a mask on and the road is five meters away from the window.)

Where's the numbers behind them though, how many had an underlying health condition, how many are health care workers and how many were related to or in close contact with health care workers.

Have you thought about a new career with the KPA when this is all over, I think you'd like it there.

It is bad enough that you feel the need to shout, its worse that you are shouting fakenews.
