Shirley this can't be happening in a place like America?

It was rte too, apparently they've done it since the 19th century, for people without next of kin.

    Yawn.

Anything to say about the content of his Tweet?
Most of it is not his content?

We need a pre registration system so that if you turn up on the UK side with accreditation you don't get on board.

544 new cases only in Sweden, two times our population, during the last day. An exemplar in how to manage affairs without imposing a draconian lockdown like we did.

Who knows? Not someone we need to hear from anyway unless he's funding the HSE.

I'm so glad that noted infectious diseases expert Conor McGregor is speaking truth to power. In a time when clear heads are needed, who better to rally the masses than a man who gets concussions as his day job?

His comment is more sensible than anything I've ever heard come from our government or public health "experts". Far easier for them to pit Dubs against rural folk rather than upset their "European partners" and deal with this elephant in the room

Given what we know to date is there any reason it cannot happen in America?

America is not some super impressive example of a well functioning society at the moment.

If someone hasn't already made a 10 hour loop of that on YouTube, it needs to happen.

“Shut yo mouth! It all feels the same, it all feels the same!”

    The best bit.

Just to confirm something which has probably been confirmed 100 times before the 500 odd positive cases yesterday are up to what time and date. Is it midnight Wednesday or 12 midday Thursday? Or some other time?

The article is BS, so in turn McGregor’s comments are BS. Doesn’t really matter who he is.

77 dead says otherwise. Especially when more realistically compared to their neighbours.

Oh and they have only done about the same amount of testing we have in spite of the bigger population. So with only testing the same amount we are would you expect much more positive results?

Despite being twice our population, Sweden has done the same amount of tests as us so their testing rate is half of ours.

Their death rate is also 1.5 times ours.

    How is that an exemplar?

I strolled in to the city centre for a walk this morning. Streets packed and people doing as they please. Not many wearing masks.

Went in again a half an hour ago and still the same. People just aren't getting the message. Just seemed like a normal Easter weekend.

I live in the city centre and I'm calling bullshít. The odd time I have been out it is a lot quieter than normal. There are still people about but it is quiet.

Fact is we don’t know because we have no restrictions on anybody entering the state whether they be holiday makers, ex pats visiting their family or randomers on weekend away.

Failte Ireland, Airbnb or ferry companies have no responsibility to turn anyone away. That’s the issue

Some of those sent to Germany were also older tests and as such would just be added to the model is how I would read some of it.

Sure. Common sense has trumped "expert advice" at every juncture of this crisis

I have had symptoms now for over a week. I was reluctant to speak to my GP as I didn’t want to put others out who may need a test more than me (I am 30 years old,) however, despite resting, isolating and doing as instructed my symptoms got dramatically worse.

I got the email today with confirmation of time, date and location of test.

Little nervous about, has anyone had it done and if so what should I expect? Do I need to bring anything with me?

    Thank you

I’ll tell ye who’s another unsung hero who got no mention in any of this is the truckers.
Men and women working flat out to keep shelves full and deliveries rolling inspite of all the selfish, self entitled gombeens who are in the shops stripping them same shelves.
Fair play to the truckers.with the tacho restriction lifted they are working around the clock and we would have nothing without them.
And when it’s all over they will be back racing the clock and trying to obey the tachos while being harassed and fined.
Cheers and thanks to the truckers

thats their job they get paid for it why dont we do a hats off to the postmen or bus driver while your at it

Sure, sure. If common sense really could have fixed this we'd be out in the sun now.

The issue is, they have every incentive to let them come in. This issue will become increasingly urgent as restrictions are "relaxed" over the summer. Defeats purpose of any lockdown
