Really? Re-wrting history now are we - you didn't post that Varadkar is "known as" a spin and PR addict.....you posted

You said he was an addict, not that people had an opinion that he was an addict.

Of course the irony that spin is now being used to get out of what you said/posted is not lost :D:D:D

Pedantry now in a desperate effort to defend.

I'll leave you to wallow in your embarrassing faux pas in reminding us all how bad this Spin addiction stuff got a short while ago.

Even with all the money spent FG couldn't help but mess it up. It continues.

    Should it though?

A Nurses Rep is on the national Broadcaster calling on the government to bring in changes to help them actually do their jobs during this.

Would it not fit the Taoseach better to roll up his sleeves and get that done? Make working at max capacity more efficient for ALL nurses across the country or do a stint on the phones?

    Priorities Leo.

Would that task not be better suited to the minister for health?

    Fantastic gesture from Eoin, would be great to see other T.D's do the same ;

Well the MoH seems to be incapable of doing it, otherwise a Nurses rep wouldn't have to take to the national airwaves to pressure for it to happen.

My granny would say, if you were doing pointless stuff...'would it not fit you better to do.....'

This is a serious question for Leo and the government at this time...'Would it not fit you better to sort out the issues that are making it difficult for frontline staff to actually work full and productive shifts'?

Ah yes, we've had deflect, then distract so I suppose it is time for ignore.

I'm guessing you'll be embarassed/scundered/cringing etc for me.

    Talk about formulaic :D:D:D

I'm sure you agree that we've all had enough of Leo and his incapable government Francie.

I'm waiting for the other parties to replace him and fix these issues themselves. (And waiting and waiting:pac:)

    Newsflash: They won't.

Is this somehow an answer to the point? That it would fit the Taoiseach better to sort out the ongoing issues hampering frontline staff from doing their work.

That is his actual job btw.

He was a doctor before becoming a politician Francie. We need doctors.

The opposition should form a government and free him up so he can go back to medicine full time.

So he is not doing his job as a politician (because as recently as this morning a Nurses rep was on the national broadcaster highlighting serious hindrances to front line staff doing their jobs) the job he is paid to do, and he can moonlight on another answering phones?

Half of the Dáil are millionaires...are they making the same gesture?

We're all doing a bit more than usual and it all helps.

Varadkar doing one session a week on the phonelines will not impact his job as Taoiseach and if it encourages other retired medical professionals (or others who have left the profession) to come back, when they see that there roles to be filled that don't expose them to the virus, then it's no bad thing.

If we all took the atittude that we should just stick to our actual jobs then we'd all be screwed.

How many other SF representatives are making similar gifts to the Republic?

I'm a greeting with you Francie. He's doing an awful job, a terrible job, the worst government ever.

And the days of FF/FG duopoly dominance are finished, somebody else should take over to provide the strong leadership needed in the greatest national crisis since ww2.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man/woman etc etc I'm waiting for that.

To lead others to do the same. Seems like it worked too. Here's another SF TD following

It (effectively) has made the point very prominent and half the country are now discussing it.

Leading by example, he is getting world wide praise for it and so he should, well except from the usual fools .It might be only one day but it helps and any little bit that helps from anyone at this stage is welcome.

The opposition want a unity government until this crisis is over and he blocked that idea. Now he's spending half days on a call line.

He isn't 'doing' his job though...there is stuff he could be doing.

And 24,000 ex health care worker have already expressed an interest in returning to work.

Are they back and working? Has government removed all the hindrances to them getting back?

Have they f***, 'Get the photo...get the photo at any cost'.

No you will see all SF TD’s do the same and all use the same generic letter because the party has to stay relevant and this is their way , they will all hand it back then Mary Lou will come out of her isolation and and shout from the roof tops about how her party have helped the cause by giving back the money . Why don’t they sell all the Georgian property around Dublin they have and and down grade to a more socialist office space. They seen Leo scored some points by doing the one day so this is how they come back at that.

How has he blocked the idea - FG are the third largest party by vote share and he only controls 35 of 160 TDs.

That leaves 125 - even if he was dead against it, how could Varadkar possibly stop it from happening?
