I don't think so many countries would shut down globally if we were experiencing average flu mortality rates crammed into 3 months or so.

We are not discussing shut downs, we are discussing inaccurate death rates.

Death rates which are complete speculation.

I’ve posted the link below to the recent flu pandemics in Italy.

They have had stark warning for years now, and had time to prepare the health service in the way both Singapore and Toronto did.

Indeed. But really only the start of it. I think they will hit the 1000 mark in a week or two and remain there for a while.

The death rate is usually around 1% so multiply that by 100 and you have 250,000 cases, with about half in London.

Perhaps some of these poeple would have died anyway, and happened to have coronavirus, theres currently no strong proof of that as yet, its just a theory, but obviously plasuible one. My understanding is they are effective in terms of shielding water droplets, and for helping to prevent spreading it if you do have it, but that's about it. And that you have to be careful when taking it off and putting it on.

Still not many from what I see.

People have already been told many times they won't help you stop getting it, but sure if people want to wear them and it might stop them infecting others, it's not a bad thing.

It may be the cabin fever (its definitely cabin fever) but I've come to appreciate the petty squabbles that break out on this thread every day. Today I can't decide on what my favourite from the following is:

1. The difference between median and mean
2. Whether or not the ICU numbers are cumulative
3. Whether or not going to Belfast counts as going abroad.

What I particularly like is how heated these things get. I guess we're all crawling the walls but stuff like:

"Is that mean or median?"

"Ya ****kin prick how can you not know?"

Makes me laugh, when only the other day it pissed me off to scroll through it
