You said anyone could get a Phd, which is absolute rubbish.

Froog probably shouldn't have suggested that anyone with time and money can get a PhD, but the core point was quite valid. There are contexts where it is not really appropriate for a PhD to use their title, and any context where they might be mistaken for an MD would fit that bill.

This is understood by most PhDs.

He’s a hell of a lot better than some of the experts here and he has given a lot of very accurate information, he conveys messages from the most affected areas as he gets emails directly from the frontline of Italy etc.

He is independent, has no agenda or seek personal gain. His videos don’t even had ads enabled Nd he could be making a nice chunk of money off that with youtube You won’t see any HSE manager or Irish politician criticise the UK or US approach and he does both.

Like everything in the last few weeks related to this it’s important to note that things change quickly and what’s relevant today is wrong tomorrow.

I wouldn’t dismiss him like you have, I do t take it all as gospel, but he’s worth listening to.

I do have to laugh at the "He is independent, has no agenda or seek personal gain. His videos don’t even had ads enabled Nd he could be making a nice chunk of money off that with youtube" line.

YouTube demonitizes' anything on coronavirus, and he has a PayPal in his video descriptions

    235. extra 2 deaths, and now 39 in ICU.

    39 in ICU is worrying.

That doesn’t wash. Retail doesn’t or should work on a supply/ demand pricing model. Airlines do that.

If people are buying products in bulk from Chemists it would Allow them to lower their prices because the cost of idle stock Is less.

Chemists regularly charge a 700% mark up. They have always been a rip off.

What do you think happens when any product gets 700%-1000% increase in sales in a short time - the price just stays the same???

Growth <20%, social distancing is surely having an impact. Things could be a lot worse, fingers crossed the numbers don't explode like Italy or Spain.

I think a lot of the positive action by the government. I think this stems from the fact that they effectively lost the last election.
They see it as an opportunity to win the next one / national security.
I obviously can't speak to the motive but fair play to them.

Look what's happening in UK and US. Keep business going, oh wait do shut down. Oh how long can this go on.

They are all under extreme pressure from their main financial backers to get things going at the soonest opportunity.
They are heeding the public health advice and gambling essentially that it will pay off when this blows over.

They didn't have my last vote but if we get through this better than most countries they will have my vote.

This isn't going away until there is a vaccine and the best we can hope for is to trickle people into the hospitals at a manageable rate until the vaccine is widely available, and the only way to ensure that is to stay locked up for a good while.

What if they can't make a vaccine? Prolonging lives that we never get to live. I kind of agree with you, but we can't just assume that a vaccine is the end-point.

    39 in ICU is worrying.

That number is creeping up everyday and Not many are taking notice just the main test number , at least ICU still have plenty of beds it would be great to see that move down slightly even for just a day

    No it’s not.

Yes people are dying which is awful
But I terms of cases out curve is, so far, looking quite good.

Under 20% again is what we want to see

Thats 39 from the start of this I think, might not be 39 now. Just like the number of cases doesn't reflect recovered yet

Even I'm not that cynical. I believe the Government are acting strictly in interests of public, they deserve benefit of the doubt.

No, but retail margins are generally not dynamic and are Pretty much set. I’ve noticed a big decrease in the offers that all retailers have as they know how much more shopping is being done, but chemists have been gouging prices since the dawn of time, so it’s No surprise they are gouging on these items.
