No Problem, some great central hotels in Killarney and at good prices but either of them are perfect

That new Cinema building on the old Torc Hotel site is some eyesore, regardless of whether or not another cinema is needed. At least that part of town now has its own eyesore to match the Reeks Building on the Tralee Road.

I honestly don't see the problem. I reckon it looks better than what it was, a landfill almost.

What was wrong with the one in town that we need another one? A bowling alley or arcade or something the town already DOES NOT HAVE would have sufficed

Serious lack of parking for the one in town.

Also I heard that the owners of the East Avenue have bought the cinema in town and there is a strong possibility it will close in the future.

Hi all. Does anyone know if the gyms or leisure centres/ swimming pools around town are closed? I drove by Coral on N22 roundabout and it appeared to be closed.

When I drove through town last night, there was a few still open, but from the few that I have on FB or IG, they were all closing after last night.

I wonder are they all closed today or are a few remaining open to cash in

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,292 ✭✭✭madcabbage

They look all closed from what i saw last night driving through, think most would be afraid to be seen as not caring.

Celtic whiskey bar on new street and sullys on high street were open. Few photos on Facebook and people branding it a disgrace. Same operators of sullys also manage the Macau casino in cork and they're also business as usual.

Sportsman was also open, Sullys changed ownership only a couple of weeks ago.

A thought.... With so many people laid off work now, including myself, I think it would be a good idea of we could post organisations looking for volunteer work or places looking for extra help, be it paid or not.

    So far I've heard :

    Musgraves in Ballycasheen
    Lidi
St Vincent De Paul - meals on wheels
HSE are looking for help on nursing homes, more info on the hse. Ie website

I'm a bit fearful myself of the times ahead, with how I'm going to spend my time and keep busy.

Hoping this post will be of help to some, and that others know of places and will post.

    Stay safe and sane guys!

With so many people who live in the town center currently out of work or working from home, it might be an idea to get the traffic wardens to lay off on the ticketing of cars.

Parking should be free in the current situation.

It's causeing a lot of hassle in Tralee for businesses owners. How many people are the warrdans coming in contact with? Walking around both towns

Traffic wardens in Killarney are employees of the council, if parking is made free they still work, they just only ticket people who park illegally.
