The declining cases might indicate we've successfully managed to contain some of the spread from Italian flights and the like.

That said I expect our numbers to rise when the virus spread related to UK flights start coming through.

Its critically important the HSE are able to track cases coming from the UK.

Limited flights and mandatory quarantening of UK arrivals is key.

They might need to do more than that in the long term. Italy's family structures are literally undermining their efforts here. Look at how many Italian children live at home with their parents compared to Britain. A perfect storm for this disease to wreak havoc since its a bigger threat to the older population by and large. Absolutely, but its very hard to due this currently in the likes of Italy due to their traditional societal structures. I believe we may have a better chance here.

What you are seeing in my posts is frustration.

Italy is going into a proper full lockdown now in Spain and the UK the death rates are climbing at an alarming rate.

This whole situation is a nightmare and I fear good old Leo may be right we are in the calm before the storm.

So I asked her what I should do If my situation deteriorated.
She replied, follow the guidelines on the HSE website.
I then explained that that was what I thought I was doing right now.
She then said she couldn't help me.
I asked her if the coronavirus is a deadly virus?
She said it is.
I replied, yet I have to wait 48 hours to raise the issue with a doctor? Can I go to A+E.
She said absolutely not, just follow the guidelines on the HSE website.

Moral of the story is don't get Coronavirus at the weekend.

Does this scenario sound balmy to you guys ?
Does anyone know if you can just rock up to a drive thru testing centre without a referral? I'm thinking not.

Not barmy at all. I had a very similar experience myself last Sunday.
No you can`t just show up at a testing centre,. A GP has to refer you for a test.

You're simultaneously so sick that you think you should take priority over incredibly ill people, and yet well enough to go doing deliveries to customers (which you should never have done if you even suspect you might have the virus)?

I'm sure the woman you spoke to got the measure of you and advised you accordingly.

If you really truly believe you are so severely ill that you won't survive the weekend, then call the emergency number for an ambulance.

Otherwise, isolate yourself at home and monitor your symptoms, like everyone else is doing.

Good God.
