Wouldnt this give companies who are still operating (IT companies remotely from home etc) the option of slashing wages when they otherwise wouldnt have if this incentive did not exist?

Really hard. You will have to suspend your disbelief for a second. Here's a few things to consider while considering the problem.

The central bank of Ireland can print as many yo-yos as they want
They can choose who to give those freshly printed digital 1s and 0s to whoever they want.
To date this has been given to banks in the hope they would "recapitalise" and lend to people in the real economy (at a profit)
The books don't need to balance. Checkout the US treasury's current liabilities for that one.

Cafes around me are open.You can't sit in, you stand on the marked X on the ground in the shop, or on the pavement outside and they serve you with gloves on, or through a window.You can ring in your order either and they will bring it out to your car window. Couple of restaurants here are closed to the public, but offering to cater portions for ring-in orders.

Social distancing is all grand but could someone have a word with the idiot roma going around in hordes in the lilac centre, manky kids running around and the piss head drunks in everywhere basically and let's not forget the skunks who remarkably have a good supply of masks and gloves . Funny thing the worst today was a Chinese girl rd l in a shop no effort at all.

The employees wouldn't be working through.

They'd be "temporarily not working".

Big tech will want their employees working.

Has anyone been out and about in Dublin today, is it busy? Usually it's chock a block around here with people and traffic but I haven't gone anywhere today.

There are elements of society too thick to be able to behave accordingly, we just need to accept that. Those of us who know better should be staying at home though to flatten the curve.

It's a really weird thing to do, what people are doing at the moment, demanding to know whether someone had underlying conditions so that they can feel better about their own chances. Very, very weird. It's like when you hear someone got cancer and you ask if they were a smoker.

How do you know you - or someone in your family - don't have an underlying condition you're 'not aware of yet'?

Sure enough it was pneumonia and my son was in hospital for a week.

They always say that breathing issues can get out of hand quickly.
