China blamed it on US soldiers ,
So he said no this started in China
He said in the interview he wouldn't say they where not to blame but it 100% started there which is correct , If Obama said the same people would agree because it came out of Donald's mouth people won't agree,

Its ok not to like someone or not agree with everything they say but also find some things they say to be correct ,

People are getting distracted by this trump ****e. Focus on here. Resume the royal rumble good vs bad after pandemic.

    Thanks.

I’m adopting the same behaviour I had when living in Asia. Shoes left outside. About 5 showers a day. And walking around the house (self isolating by myself) in a kimono. Seriously all I need is a pina colada and a cigar and I would be the spit of Del Boy.

If you are confined to your own house why on earth would you need 5 showers a day??? That's just ridiculous.

Here's a walkthrough of a hospital in Bergamo. Every corner is in use. This is the wave coming towards us.

Stay away from people outside of your home.

    horrific. good lord.

But aid workers would never be allowed this say this kind of stuff while inside china. If they were to say one bad thing about China they would be kicked out or arrested

That's 80% of the population here.

Exactly my point. That is what we could be facing. And that is just from the first wave. if you look at what is going on in Asia there is a second wave spreading. A lot of people still don`t grasp the seriousness of what is happening.

Yes but with a huge dollop of no. The risks of such viral jumps are massively increased with certain animal husbandry practices and such practices are too common in certain parts of the world. The cultures of the far East being one. China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand. These practices have to be stopped.

And what about USA pig husbandry practices ?

We may have to rename the 1918 (H1N1) 'Spanish' flu pandemic (the deadliest pandemic in history so far) 'The USA Virus' or 'The Kansas Virus'. It killed an estimated 50 - 100 million people.

I agree the wet markets of Asia, Africa, and South America increase the risk but my point stands... It could happen anywhere on earth and modern air transport means it could be on our doorstep in days.

Dr Mike Ryan mentioned this when discussing the role of the World Health Organisation’s Health Emergencies Programme and how it reacts to crises around the world, in a lecture here in Ireland in 2017. He also showed just how many bullets we have dodged from possible pandemics recently. Shocking stuff !

The median incubation time is 5 days. Median time from onset of symptoms to death is 20 days.

Thats a 3 week lag anyway. Just being real. We really don't know as distancing measures which are not really being respect by large parts of society only came in a week ago.
and if we assume the virus was here well before march many would of shown or had it already passed and recovered.

seems some are just waiting to see it get worse for their own messed up mental health where they feel better sitting at home getting dole, and running out to the shop, can only imagine this will have on our next generation who will need half year off every time someone has a sniffle.

No, you don’t ramp up tensions in a Crisis because one side is trying to coax a reaction.. A level headed president worries about that after the crisis has averted and doesn’t respond. Trumps knee jerk reaction is basically taking the bait. He’s a disaster and making mistake after mistake.

The priority now is to address the issue, the issue isn’t propaganda it’s slowing the virus.

The problem is if US didn't response swiftly (abeit it is a becoming a bit ugly), people will actually start believing the Chinese narrative. A lot of my relatives in China believe the virus was spread by US Army. It is actually China try to reflect domestic and international blames and responsibilities to an easy target (i.e. US and Trump)

As an older (but not heading for a gold-standard pension) clerical officer in the public service, I would be in a position to manage if I had to take 6 weeks or so unpaid leave to help flatten the curve. The work that I do is not essential at this time. In fact I feel I'd be doing more service to the public by staying isolated to help flatten the curve.

I wish the government could introduce a voluntary-stay-at-home-with-no-pay scheme.

Absolutely, I work a back office role in the PS too and i would take a month or so unpaid leave also. Ideally I could work from home but that is not being entertained at all at the minute. Not enough equipment I have been told.

A lot of people work in my building. It is only a matter of time before someone is infected and the whole place will close.

In Dublin though. It’s a mixture of boredom, fear and using up hot water. Every time I hear someone cough outside scares the bejesus out of me.

My first tomato plants started to sprout yesterday from the nice sun. I should get about 200 tomatoes or more if last year is anything to go by. Eamon is right, plant seeds, the more food the better.

So I just came into my closed down school in Dublin to check something (I can do this without coming into contact with anyone) and the walls and shutters have been destroyed with graffiti overnight. Going to cost me 100's to get that cleaned up again, at a time when I can least afford to fix this.

Great to see the spirit of togetherness in our time of greatest crisis is strong....

What type of losers find this 'activity' entertaining?

Why are people so certain what is happening in Italy is coming our way?

From all accounts and info available during the initial stages of this virus the Italians had zero social distancing policies in place and the general public mixed and socialised the same as always.

We have closed pubs and restaurants, schools and all sporting organisations have also been closed. People from what I can see are keeping their distance when out and about and the shops for the best part are also taking responsible measure.

Ok some people are going to continue to be idiotic as always but that doesn't warrant people calling for the army to be sent in our a sudden and total lockdown of basic services.

We have taken measure to ensure this thing doesn't get beyond our control. Let's wait and see what effect these measures have on the transmission. We won't know for a few days more and I'm betting people will be pleasantly surprised .

You can respond without making a counter accusation. Trump is acting like a child in a schoolyard responding to a slag. He could of just said it’s very unfortunate China said this and when this has been resolved they will do what needs to be done to get to bottom. Could of also asked for the evidence to back up what they are saying. Not “no way was it the US, they spread it first....”

Germany is still not in lockdown
"We will look at the behavior of the people this weekend," a politician told Der Spiegel. "Saturday is a decisive day, and we will keep a close eye on that."
They are approaching Iran in number of cases...

"Under this model, the researchers conclude, social distancing and school closures would need to be in force some two-thirds of the time—roughly two months on and one month off—until a vaccine is available, which will take at least 18 months"
