Obviously not the most important of things at the moment but does anyone know if clamping on public streets is being enforced as normal?

Clampers live for these days. They'll be carrying extra clamps.

I'd be done now too only my last exams were scheduled for last Friday. :(

With regards to production services I agree that they do need to keep running, as do any essentials such a health, security and fire. We need to be protected and we need to eat and have safe drinking water, we don't really need fresh oil or a brand new adidas track suit to get through a pandemic.

Live needs to go on, no doubt but we need to be realistic about what we really need.

You'll be self isolating so I take it.

Anyone watching the Formula 1: Drive to Survive series on Netflix? I lost interest in that years ago but this show is bloody good. Mostly behind the scenes stuff following the lesser teams and their struggles competing with the big boys. Some of the clashes on track between so called teammates is madness, putting the whole team in jepeordy just to get ahead of each other. It's actually got me interested again in the coming season in fact. Anyway, worth a look.

Well he said he was going to do all to protect his folks etc but seems to be heading into a high risk job tomorrow. On the fooooooking frontline
And he's sh1tting on about folk being frivolous when he has zero notion what he's talking about. But I'm the d1ck....yeah.
If he thinks he's endangering his folks he should ring in to work and tell them he is self isolating.

Called the job this morning and they advised me not to come in, judging from what some of the lads are saying I'd say they'll be closed within the week either way.

Now to spend hows watching videos on cars and bikes that I won't be able to afford in the coming recession. :pac:

Were on a wind down too.

Getting as much out as possible today. Still planning to be working on Wednesday but it's day by day.

Over 50% of bookings are no shows, no new bookings today. Usual motor industry nonsense though, a fella driving from Sligo to Dublin for us to check out a TPMS light, driving past a few franchise dealers and a thousand tyre shops for something he could fix himself if he tried and two people who have lost their jobs so cant settle bills.

Bit of a **** show. Nobody is ever happy.

Sounds like a fairly normal day in a main dealer. Have you had the really kind regular that expects a bit of free work in yet?

A friend of mine runs his own garage with his dad, they're showing no signs of stopping but it is different for them I guess. If there's no work, they don't eat.
They're garage is attached to the house so at least they're not paying rent on it.

Can anyone clarify what the difference in the following are. Showing up in a 15 Audi A4. Not showing anywhere in the manual.

    Next Oil change 8700 miles

    Next Inspection 0 miles

Ie what's the difference between a service and inspection.

    Thanks

    Inspection is just that....

They give other parts and equipment a going over.

Lads my car is due an oil change in 2600 miles and I reckon I'll be doing it myself with the current situation. I've watched clips on youtube on how to reset the oil change interval using the tachometer button on the speedometer. Does anyone know if this also updates the service requirements on the I drive? It's a bmw f10 btw.

I think once you reset it on the dashboard, the idrive gets updated too but I've no personal experience of doing it myself.

I presume you seen similar to this already:

Yeah I've seen a couple of those bazz. I always assumed that only bmw could update the I drive service history?

No losses there anyway, natural selection working as intended.

Oh the service history? Only a BMW dealer or a licensed BMW independent service centre can do that as they need access to the cloud.

I get ya bazz. So once I reset the oil change interval, the date for next service will be updated on I drive but no service record shown?

Looks like I've a faulty engine oil sensor! It's showing level at max on I drive, but almost at min on dipstick.
A quick top up on the cards.

Fúck sake and some cars don't even have a dip stick.

Sure Nissan oil lights don't come on until you're down to about half a liter.

I just seen on the book face someone robbed a 94 1.3 Corolla.

Don't ask me why. I have no idea.

They are a known for being dodgy alright. When I was buying my 530d I had to get the dealer to replace the sensor as it was showing an amber warning that the oil level was above max and to bring it a dealer. It was displayed in the vehicle service menu within the idrive but didn't throw up any warning on the screen to tell the driver. They had the local BMW dealer inspect it and it was indeed the oil level sensor. On my old 2011 F10 I had to have the oil sensor replaced under warranty too.

I noticed on many of the yourtube videos that there is an oil level re-calibration option in the idrive but I don't see it in mine. The videos seem to be mostly of US petrol F10s so might not be shown on EU spec or derv cars. Definitely worth having it checked out further especially when it comes to oil level.

Joyriders I'd say, they are easy to break into and start if it doesn't have an immobilizer. 94 was around the year immobilizers were made compulsory on new cars so it would have been a 93 build.

Certainly bazz. I'll be giving it a top up tomorrow once I get some oil. Any recommendations on the best oil for it? I think bmw used to go with Castrol but not anymore as far as I know.
