    Deadlift 165kg 3x6 which is an equal PR for 6s. Previously did this weight and rep scheme whilst on the run into Deadlifting 207.5kg like a hero when I hit 500kg in comp.

    First two sets were alright. Third was a bridge too far and last rep was brutal. Setup too close to the rack and was trying to put it down behind my shins it seemed. Every rep landed in a different spot and it was perhaps the worst set of Deads I've done in a long time. The positive is that I got it done.

    Military Press was good. 50kg for 5 on first set, followed by 55kg for 6 on second. Had only planned 5 reps on that second set - but mid set I thought why not go for 6 reps for what may be a PR... so I did.

    The drop set 40kg x15 is a PR by one rep over last week. Whilst doing them I thought I needed 16 reps for the PR so was gutted when I only hit 15. Checking back through log showed 15 reps was a PR... so nice one. Probably would have gotten the 16 if I had limited the preceding set on 55kg to 5 instead of 6 reps.

    Our military press numbers are broadly similar...but your bench happens to be 15-20kg better than mine :pac:

    Need to add variety on this day. Usually do more or less the same exercises on this day twice per week, just varying weight/sets/reps. Time for a rethink.

    Reducing the volume more so than I usually would at this stage. Just one set on Squats 135kg x7 and just half the reps on Abs and GHR.

    This is day 10 of 12 of this cycle, and since there is no competition cherry to pop at the end I'm experimenting with lower volume in the final 2 weeks of the 6 to see what effect it'll have on my general feelings of fatigue and strength for the final few sessions.

    Had fun doing high rep SSB with no hands: 50kg 2x12. Removing hands from handles causes bar to really try rounding the upper back over... and abs have to work much harder than if you were holding the handles to support the weight. Felt good to get more out of less weight.

    Was 82.9kg the other day. Managing to fill up the glycogen stores nicely the past week or so since I cut the surplus walking. Still hit 12k+ yesterday and 10k+ the day before... through general living step expenses.

    Squat 145kg x5 easily enough. Warmed up and was into the workset so quickly I kinda forgot it was just 5kg off my best set of 5s. Fine.

    Feeling quite fresh due to volume reduction in past few days.

    Spotted some guy from the ancestral homeland. He TNG Benched 100kg handy, then struggled with 107.5kg where I perhaps jumped in too early to save him. Finally he got flattened with 110kg. No stability off chest as he wasn't pausing and staying tight.

    Deadlift 185kg for a PR equaling triple to end the cycle.

    Experimenting with bands on the Military Press to similate bamboo bar. Fun, for variety. Could obviously go heavier. Just messing about.

    Rows to end it all.

    Was so busy during this 6 week cycle that it flew by and I'm out the other end in a good position. Each lift ended with a triple on Squat, Bench, Dead of 155kg / 112kg / 185kg respectively for a training total triple of 452kg. Reducing the volume on main lifts in weeks 5 and 6 really helped recovery. Come into the final days feeling fresh as a daisy.

Will increase the weight slightly as I progress through the weeks and see where I get to eventually. Quads feeling confused since the above.

    Nearly ripped biceps off by curling 22kg DBs for 5s. Did that as 20kgs were in use.

    Rattled through Bench, Chins and One Arm Rows in 16 mins total. Felt a bit faint for the 2nd half of the work out and neck training was much harder than usual as was a bit gassed.

    Wide Grip PullUps felt particularly easy in amongst Bench.

    First day of Deadlift cycle. Nice and light. Some shoulders and rows too.

    Back of neck a bit tender where SSB was digging into when doing no hands the other Squat day. Cushion slipped and it was bar metal on neck.

    I cannot give specific before or after measurements to back up my claims - but I'd say: yes.

    Have been training neck twice a week now for approx 3 months. Endurance increasing plus hypertrophy.

    Flexibility improving too as moving it through a ROM that you wouldn't usually. Getting appreciation / proprioception for this untrained body part over the past decade of powerlifting. Get a nice after affect post training it too.

    Thus far neck training fits best on Bench day as part of a tri-set along with Bench/Chins. Takes about 3 mins to rattle through the 5 exercise variations - and gives enough breather between Bench/Chin sets for recovery.
