    I'm trying find a Twitter thread/story that was probably mentioned on here too (sorry if this has been asked before - these threads are massive!) where eagle-eyed posters saw the West of Ireland cluster on map by zooming in on photo of computer screens before it was announced officially? I saw it originally & thought total conspiracy theory, now I want to get their info!

    Hard to see how it could possibly be a higher percentage than the infection rate of a group of people, mostly in the older at risk category, locked up in the same indoor space together for a large amount of time.

    The city of Wuhan has an infection rate of less than 1% and numbers have been dropping.

    Find it very hard to imagine it hitting a larger percentage than that of the world population.

    You can still pay with cash but it's mostly touch screen.

    That was over a 6 week period. You dont understand how exponential growth works if you fail to see how the numbers can spiral out of complete control very quickly. The city is still on lockdown btw

    Yeah they developed the touch screen systems and software in response to Cronoavirus in january

    No connection to kilkenny just added in to the other post to cut down on post numbers
    That map was from 2/3 days ago. its a blown up section of the map on the link.

    A group from Coláiste Eamon Rís in Callan recently travelled to a region in Italy, and returned here on February 21. It is understood it was at most a low-level contact, and does not meet the threshold for testing.

    What an assumption.

    Given that the map doesn't show the confirmed case in Dublin I'd be more inclined to think it's crap mapping software rather than a new case in the midlands..

    Not to panic or anything.
    In the region of Lombardy where Milan is located there are 2251 cases positive. 1169 in hospital, 244 in intensive care.
    Which is our statewide limit of intensive care.
    Not saying to panic just numbers that are real and decisions we can make now.
    Time to postpone the parade ? Surely not.

    I do know how exponential growth works, you missed the "and the numbers have been dropping" part.

    Just because you want it to be exponential so you can keep doom mongering doesn't make it so.

    Just seen there that there is 6 cases in Scotland too, so the same as Ireland at the moment plus the 3 Northern cases.
