99% sure that Wolfenstein on Switch only comes as a download code. Maybe they'd take the code if the box is still in the outer wrapper.

Gonna chance my arm on this today (only found this thread last night). My local GameStop can be a bit useless for any kind of deal but I have a rare day off.

I have switch online subscription. Do I need to manually upload my saves? Do I just reset it or how do I unlink the console from my account (or is that just a PS4 thing)?

Go into switch settings and make sure your saves are being uploaded.

You deregister your switch by logging into your account on the nintendo website.
Just google deregister switch and there's a step by step process, it's how I did it.

You can deregister on the console itself in the e-shop. Just do that then delete your profile and you're good to go.

I returned a game to Smyths and the girl demolished the wrapper and box to see if the disc was still in it... wtf, how can they resell it now.

I used this deal over the weekend and can't believe the value in it.

I traded in my launch Switch (€300 credit) and a copy of Civ 6 (€36 credit) and got handed a brand new switch with better battery life.

It seemed like an offer that was too good to be true but it all worked out.

The only thing I noticed after was that I had been charged for Gamestop level 3 membership which I never asked for and was never mentioned. Is this common practice or was I shafted?

You probably didn't get charged for it. There was a load of extra stuff on my receipt too and I've no idea why. I traded my older switch for the new one and only paid the 30 euro but there was about 25 euros worth of gaming accessories for various consoles on my receipt.

No idea what they do be playing at.

You probably didn't get charged for it GameStop will usually automatically boost you to level 3 when you buy a console.

Check if your local GameStop have stock, if you have Nintendo online make sure your saves are uploaded and if they are then next go onto the eshop on your switch and go to your user and scroll down to deregister. Then go to back to home and settings, system and select factory reset.

Make sure to remove any memory card and game from the console and leave any case at home.

Make sure you have hdmi cable, dock, plug etc. Trade it in (along with any other games you also want to trade in) and then buy the new one with the credit (they will do this for you if you explain from the start that that’s what you’re doing).

So for the simpletons in the thread and to save them scrolling through countless pages. Can someone explain in simple terms what needs to be done with the Pokemon save before trading?

You need to do a system transfer when trading. If you ask in store they should be able to facilitate you.

I asked the guy in store would he transfer, he said I only need to turn on the switch and login to my account for the games that I had.
I was away until last night so I've not checked it yet. I hope I didn't lose the game. The saves, annoying but I don't mind starting again.

So I plan on doing this today. All my games are Cloud Save compatible and I've backed them up, so I deleted the user on the Switch linked to my account. I guess that's all I've to do before trading it in?

Also, I've a few scratches on mine, not on the screen itself, just the black bezel to the side, does it make a difference? They're only really noticeable in direct light.

Side note - I really don't get how gamestop are making any money off this!
