The numbers on the reg look a tad too big.... Or I'm seeing things.

Love that Arthur Daley sticker in the back window of the Fiesta. I found this photo this morning while looking for something else. The car is long gone now but its actually on Donedeal at the minute funnily enough. This was a lot of fun

Now that you say it, there’s certainly more of a gap at the bottom of the Skoda plates. They’re just standard Top Part plastic plates from back in the day.

Funny!!! I've been lucky I've just figured out I left the octy with food in the boot for 6 months beside the sea and all intact....

Those battery packs that are the size of a rectangular pencil case are the bees knees.... Started no bother...

They would have ordered you the pressed metal if you asked.

Looks well, I like the colour.

I didn't like it at first but it's grown on me. Piano Black is too high maintenance, it scratches when you look at it. The oyster (cream) trim and leather is hard work and definitely not for someone who doesn't clean their interior that often or has young children. It gets marked very easily and doesn't hide it very well. I bought a leather repair paint pen off ebay for about €10 and it does a good job especially on the seat bolsters which tend to get most of the abuse from getting in and out of the car.

If you want to make the cream easier to keep:

Gtechniq C6 Matt Dash for the dash/plastics - adds a strong, protective layer to the plastic that makes it very easy to clean with a wet cloth
Gtechniq L1 for the leather - protects against abrasion and dye-transfer onto the leather.

Yeap I have Gtechniq L1 for the leather and 50 Cal interior dressing.

Are cut springs not a terrible idea since you're basically reducing the load capacity?

My guess is Superg's sarcasm game is good. Certainly knowing the garage it was in I sincerely doubt they went at the springs with a hack saw:D

Sadly haven’t been able to get much done to the Glanza over the summer but sorted a few bits.

Did a very ropey rattle can job on the bumper so it somewhat matches.

Next was the Bonnet but luckily managed to find an S Bonnet in the same colour so swapped that out.

It needed new tyres so figured I’d swap out the wheels while I was at it as wasn’t a fan of the black ones.

The clips on the headlights are broken so I’ll need to find a new set as they’re not sitting properly, and they’re not sold as a separate part

Did the pads and discs last week but discovered that the wishbones were very badly rusted so they’ve been ordered and will hopefully be fitted soon. Once that’s done it’s time for the first NCT in 5 years and hopefully back on the road!

How are you finding it compared to the r32 ? Performance, fuel etc?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,492 ✭✭✭Killinator

    Better in every aspect.
    More efficient on fuel.
Feels much quicker off the mark and through the gears, Dsg feels more responsive somehow.
Feels lighter and shaper, likes it's on rails.

Only thing I miss is the sound of the V6, but I'm happy with the low grumble and pops off this aswell
