I like Monaco as a once a year novelty, seeing the best drivers in the world hustle those incredible cars around the streets of a small town is astonishing to behold. Would I want to watch it every weekend, no, as an annual spectacle though I think its worth keeping.

I'd only make a point of trying to attend the Monaco GP if they brought back the old V8's circa 2012 think it was :D

The noise of them backfiring was something to behold! I'd imagine through the tunnel it would be unreal

Reports of Bottas keeping his seat and Ocon going to Renault in place of Hulkenburg, I fear it could be the end for him without ever achieving something meaningful

He gets on well with Hamilton, and is the all improtant 'wingman'

    Have to laugh at this

    https://www.express.co.uk/sport/f1-autosport/1166816/Fernando-Alonso-Red-Bull-contract-offer-Lewis-Hamilton-Pierre-Gasly-Alex-Albon-F1-news
FERNANDO ALONSO reportedly turned down the chance to replace Pierre Gasly at Red Bull for the remainder of the season.

I'd agree. If that happens then I presume Ric stays on as Renault lead. So what happens Hulk? There are no open seats up the grid. Only two ways to go. Down the grid or out

Unfortunately I don't think anyone will miss hulk. He's good and probably better than his results have suggested, but he has never hit the height so I don't think we'll miss him.

Hulk will end up at Haas alongside Magnussen i reckon. Grosjean is past it.

I often see headlines and think "wow!". Then look and see its an express headline. The express just literally invents stories. It's like a "what if" news source.

Yeah i've been caught for their stories before, i hoe they've sent a copy of that to Helmut Marko :D

It's a shame because Hulkenberg is one of the good ones on the grid, highly likable, can put together a good performance on his day.
I suppose he has that win in Le Mans so it's not been a total disaster of a motorsports career.

    This too shall pass.

The one big IF i would love to know is where would he have finished in Brazil 2012 had he not crashed

    Or Germany 2019

    Or Germany 2019

He wasn’t in contention for the win there though

Could have had a podium though - I think.

He'd have taken third if you look at it, he wasn't getting anywhere near Verstappen & Vettel but could've held off Kvyat and Stroll.

An article about testing the 2021 rules to see the Impact on do enforce when following.

Look at the front wings and barge boards. So simplified like something from the 90. Rear wing looks to be much less Complex too.

    Hope it works.

The front wings won't be as simple as seen here, the rear is open to interpretation too. This is the base design before the teams have developed on and found any loopholes to exploit.

Brawn has a team attempting to do the same. It will be interesting to see what the teams come up with from the new regulations for 2021 but I highly doubt the wings will be as simple.

The car looks great though. Actually excited for 2021!

It's very easy to design rules around a simple wing if you define what x, y and z planes you can have parts of the car and what planes you can't. Just design a 3d model of a base design car and give them tolerances to design it within that.

They have for years controlled areas where you can have bodywork.
You cannot limit it too much or you basically get a spec series. Then leave the Engineers a little room to design and they come up with something no one thought of and get a jump on the whole field.
It's not easy to get right.
Brawn putting a team of experienced guys to work on finding the holes in the rules is a good start.

How To Build a Car by Adrian Newey gives a good insight into how teams try to bend and break the rules. Almost impossible to police against, I would say.

Newey is the greatest design genius F1 has ever had. Gordon Murray close behind

I think Sir Colin Chapman would want a word with you, if he was still walking this earth...

Apologies to the Late Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman and his Lotus team

I wonder who would be the worst designer F1 has had?

Dallara or Wirth for the 2010 Hispania or Virgin?

Who designed the Lola in 1998? (did anybody)

    This too shall pass.

Ricardo Divili, but only because someone shoehorned a W12 into his design.

    1997

The only record I can find is of Eric Broadley. They was a decent enough livery as well. Sospiri deserved another go at an f1 drive

So, it's nearly Spa and still nothing concrete in terms of driver line-up loose ends for next year. Planet F1 reporting that Autobild state that Ocon is going to Renault as Bottas to stay at Merc. Which in turn knocks Hulk out and then likely to end up at Haas - Grosjean to move on, possibly to Formula E taking up Lotterer's vacated seat in DS Techeetah. it should be coming out of the woodwork in the next week...:/

I can’t see hulk and magnussen as teammates.. they despise each other... Definately think grosjean will be shown the door at end of this year...I think Perez could fit nicely into that team... or bottas If Ocon gets merc seat.

Hulk and Magnussen as teammates could be a lot of fun.

Hulk will always remain one of the unluckiest drivers on the grid for me. Something would always go wrong when he’s in a strong position, has beaten some highly respected team-mates and isn’t far of Ricciardo either.

If he hadn’t signed for Renault before Rosberg retired I think he would have ended up at Mercedes.
