Possible stupid question but I'm a bit clueless. I want to use a quad trailer on a car. The hitch on it looks like this:
    IMG-20190729-193319.jpg

Any reason not to? It doesn't cover the ball the same way other hitches do but feels secure enough to me. I don't want the trailer over taking me on the road some day.
    Cheers

No safety chain to activate brakes and stop it running away is the first thing that would worry me. I wouldn't.

It's designed for low down and not a car so don't even think of using it.

    As above no safety chain...

Does it properly fit a 50mm ball hitch? Quads come as standard with a smaller hitch setup the 50mm has to be specified as an extra.

If it does indeed fit properly you could always fit your own form of a break away chain and then you'd be pretty much good to go.

That would be not compliant for use on a public highway I imagine.
Most definitely not compliant with a standard tow bar. The "It doesn't cover the ball" is likely a feature to stop folk using it on cars :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,446 ✭✭✭Wailin

I initially thought that too mal, but the more I looked at them the more I told myself to cop on :pac:

I think the pressed ones look better.

Anyone know of any websites that sell OE VW parts ? Just would be handy to buy online and get delivered rather than going to a main dealer couldn't see any decent sites though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,060 ✭✭✭Sexual Chocolate

I would of assuming there be no need to buy parts for a 2018 Golf yet :D

Messing aside I wouldn't know. Sorry.

I have to get two mirror covers just don't like the black plus whoever painted them didn't do the best job with them.

You might be better asking in the GTi/R thread CIP4, I'd say the guys in the know keep tabs on that thread more than this one.

What sort of parts ? Generally these days your local parts dept is the cheapest place to buy stuff, gone are the days of the whole rip off dealer thing.

Anyone know why the 2018 and 2019 models are down on power compared to the 2014-2017 model of the 2.3 ecoboost?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,596 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Saw that myself on the North road

Thought to myself by the looks of the Audi driving it wasn't exactly flooring it and the two lads inside it were chatting away

    Thought it strange !
