    I think that's already a given. It seems the entire arc is looking Borg focussed contrary to all the Romulan reports, although those elements are still present.

    If I could bring up canon for a second in the Voyager episode Timeless, which takes place in 2390, Harry and Chakotay have a Borg temporal transmitter that had recently been discovered on a Borg cube. If I was a Romulan and caught wind of that I might try to use one to prevent the destruction of Romulus.
