Once again reffs copping out on Black cards.

That was a black all day long.

Sympathy vote. If it was 10 all he was gone.

The marking was a bit loose from a Galway perspective for that Roscommon goal

Why would you even consider 35years ago as modern. The most you could go back is to the oldest player on either of the two teams which is probably cluxton and they have beaten ye up a stick each and every time. That's even if ye got to play them and weren't knocked out by laois or carlow before you got to them.

    Will that is factually incorrect.

Cluxton played his first Meath v Dublin championship match in 2001. And Dublin have not being beaten Meath up a stick since 2001. That is incorrect. Its only happened very recently in last 2 championship games that Dublin started to hammer Meath. Here are the facts to prove it.

Cluxton debuts v Meath in 2001 in the championship . These are all the games u referenced that Meath were beaten up a stick

These are all the Meath v Dublin championship matchs since 2000 that Cluxton has played Meath in.

2001 Meath v Dublin . Meath win by the by 1 point
2005 Meath v Dublin. Dublin win by 2 point
    2007 Meath v Dublin . Draw
2007 Meath v Dublin Replay. Dublin win by 4 points
2009 Meath v Dublin. Dublin win by 2 points
2010 Meath v Dublin. Meath win by 11 points.
2012 Meath v Dublin. Dublin win by 3 points.
2013 Meath v Dublin. Dublin win 7 points.

So Cluxton has played Meath 10 times
. 8 of the games were very competitive. The average Dublin defeated Meath by since 2000 was by an average of 3 points. 3 points is the average Meath v Dublin victory margin for each team v each other in the 80s and 90s, the heyday of the Meath v Dublin rivalry.

Meath got a result in 3 of the games , 2 victories, 1 hammering by Meath of Dublin and a draw. (And incredibly when Meath hammered Dublin in 2010 by s record 11 points on that Dublin team that day was Stephen Cluxton , Bernard Brogan , Alan Brogan , Rory O Carroll, Phily McMahon , Fitzimons, John Mcarthy , Ger Brennan , Dara Macualey, Paul Flynn , Diarmaid Connolly , kevin McMemanin, Eoghan O ' Gara, Byran Cullen )

And only in 2 of the games since 2000 were Meath beaten up a stick in 2014 when Dublin won by the 16 points and 2016 10 points, in 1 of the games Dublin were beaten up a stick by Meath in 2010. Its only very very recently that Dublin have started to hammer Meath in last 2 games in last 4 or 5 years. 2014 was the worst defeat for Meath v Dublin since 1955 and possibly since 1920s in that the game was over before half time. Kerry have been hammering Cork for decades and generations. Dublin only started in last 2 games. 85% of Cluxtons career v Meath have been very competitive. The rivalry has declined since 2000 but it only really became similar to Kerry v Cork one sides rivalry in the last few years.

This is a bit better. More speed and intensity to the game. Lovely finish for the goal

    Lavelle's kickouts are problematic.

Is this the first football game on rte?? Because you can see why. Awful stuff

You sound like my cousin - a Galwayman.
He is always giving out about football, and has never seen a good game of football.
And never sees a bad game of hurling.

    :D

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Very poor goalkeeping. Went down on the players right foot when he was kicking with his left.

Would love to see a Rossies win here as neutral.
Great heart in that team - plus it should result in some interesting tweets from Cake Curran :D

Sean Andy needless foul.... the lad never learns.

Marty got caught out there on the Shane Walsh attempted point... 'his kicking is just superb...' (linesman waves it wide).... 'normally.'

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Some turnaround from the Rossies. Weather's improvement has certainly helped them as well.

Hopefully we can manage one point in this half against these Roscommon heavyweights.

Daly does so many stupid things on the pitch. Still think Galway might turn this around, they haven't played any football in the second half.

When they said before the game that he was being subbed in especially for kickouts I was wondering how bad must the other lad be.

Maybe they should make the ball lighter so they can stick it over the bar from their own 45 like they've done with the hurling to keep the moaners happy...

They are a funny type of team, you would never know what to make of them.
Some lovely bits of play mixed with pure stupidity/carelessness.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Galway may change the game plan.

This parking the bus isnt working for them.

Perfect description. Last 20 mins of the first half they were excellent. Now...

I can never get my head around how Corofin can be so good at club level, arguably one of the top club teams in history.
But Galway can never seem to harness that at intercounty level since the late 90's.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

When teams come under pressure they revert to their base game and Kevin Walsh has this team drilled to defend with 14 and deep.
