    A few weeks ago i opined that such a person should be clubbed to death with a rifle, as shooting them was too good.

    Maria Bailey has agreed to cooperate with same.

    The 'Affidavit' would have been drafted by a Barrister based on information supplied via MBs Solicitor.

    The question which has not been asked of her is whether she attended any medical examinations for the purposes of litigation either for her own side or for the defendant - I would be really interested (and not too surprised) to learn that she stated to the examining consultant about not being able to run etc in the aftermath of the fall.

    It is possible (and typical) that this is where the Barrister tool that line from in drafting the claim.

    This may never come out but we can live in hope.

    it's theirs to use and they could use it in staff training as a lesson in the idiocy of patrons..and well if it get's on an alright on the night gag reel for a 200 Euro cheque, well so much the better. If it's as bad as we think, I doubt she'll be suing for use of her image as it's hardly valuable at this stage.

    “In relation to a civil case which Deputy Bailey is withdrawing from the courts, Fine Gael is undertaking an internal review to establish all facts. The review will be undertaken by David Kennedy, Senior Counsel.

    “Deputy Maria Bailey has agreed to participate fully with this review.

    “Fine Gael will not be making any further comment at this time.”

    I wouldn't take a whole lot of meaning from that. The right to fair procedures is a constitutional right, and when you're dealing with a litigious individual... well, that's self explanatory.

    Is Paddy Power taking bets on her being booted out of the party? That's a bet I will happily take.
