Rough and ready 130 bhp A6 with NCT till 2020, €750 but I'd bet on €500 most likely driving this away

I saw a set of those alloys on adverts there at the start of the year go for €450

If you get 250 quid off that car from Bill you should negotiate Brexit.

Tested till September, taxed till the end of the month, lots of miles but full history apparently.

Uber rare, I'd love to try one of these. €1950
is that a steep price for the mileage? that car was up before or has been since and hasnt sold and I think it was the same price, i don't think the nct is that long although it looks like it'd pass, probably off putting to buyers, no idea what the 4x4 does for it terms of maintenance and reliability? some interior pics would be nice.
Was also a gold mk1 octavia a few pages back too, thought it sold, but it's back up for sale but at a reduced price.
that saab is niiice! be a shame to leave it in the rain, wonder how it fared aftwr 5 years parked up, amazed it passed, one pic seems to show a rusted disc.
I was even tempted by a lowish mileage mk3 Laguna as it is starting to grow on me in looks, and I heard they're reliable.

Only other one on Donedeal is €6500, albeit a year newer. They seem to hold their value pretty well, so I’d say that one is probably a bit too cheap but the mileage will be off putting. I have no idea what they’re actually like to own and/or drive though. They’re popular as first responder ambulances anyway!

1 owner, reasonably low miles, looks tidy, years test - €1k

I've been watching this and it has dropped from €2k in the last few weeks. Cheeky offer of €8/900 would take it I'd say. These are lovely barges

any idea what would they be like for reliability?

For the life of the gearbox, sure... AFAIR it uses a 6 speed Aisin.

Correct. Oil changes are very easily messed up, they have to be filled as they empty, gibbons method.

We seem to be on a volvo buzz but this has to be worth a punt for someone.

Great find, I would say turbo will need replacing soon enough as mine went at 92k when had one years ago

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,088 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

I've been perving on them for over a year now. Especially that era of 93. Beautiful car. If I had a garage for storage....

As nice as the convertible would be for the coming Summer months..the hardtop 3dr I posted on the last page is the one to have for preservation/future classic storing..so rare!

TBH if by this time next year I can bag myself a 93 of any description of that era I'll be all over it.

It's nice but I'd always be thinking I should've held out for the aero it's a shame though because it looks well in black but a 3dr aero in blue would be sweet.

The wheels are later vector wheels I think not aero anyway they were the bladed wheels.

Not great of course but they do have a drop down or up protection bar when it flips.

I don't want to take away from the great cars - My question is if I was to buy one of these which is over 10 years old - how difficult would it be to get insured in a 10 year old car ?

Ring a few companies and find out, all subjective

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,088 ✭✭✭✭BonnieSituation

It really all depends on your personal circumstances.

I have a 90 and 97 insured with a yellow company. But another company, French and blue had no issue with the 97. And the Road Safety Authority sounding company and the Germans are in league with them to not bother even quoting me.

The yellow company may insure you on 2 cars on one policy if that's an option for you if you're over 40.

Can you translate that into English please?!
