In my mid 40s... Mid life crisis time?

Two days ago I turned 44 years of age. Where the f*ck have the past 20 or so years gone? I remember when my parents were the age I am now and it seemed so...old.

I am getting very reflective of what I have done ( and haven’t done) with my life so far and how I want to make plans for the next decade. Time is not a quantity that I have in abundance given how fast the past two decades have gone. Life is indeed very short.

Am I starting to have a mid-life crisis? :(

Anyone else in the same boat?

Feel free to gloat at how so much younger you are compared to me:pac:...

I recently turned 35, things have been good however a few to many wasted weekends, am starting to realize the damn things are precious.

Only advice I have is to start this weekend and do something.

First they came for the socialists...

I'm a decade younger, but an existential crisis can occur at any time. Don't allow laboured clichés interrupt your stride.

I'm still waiting for mine , and I'm 63. Must be the old dementia kicking in.

Same here. I'm 75 and have yet to experience the phenomenon.

I'll be turning sixty next year and I've long reconciled myself with the fact that I have seen more sunrises than I am going to see. Sometimes I stop and laugh at the young men in their thirties who moan about "feeling old," until I realise that I used to be that young man and I that used to feel old. :)

I have few regrets. I've been happily married almost thirty years to a woman who looks as beautiful today as the day I married her. My wife and I raised our two children hoping that they be able to support themselves and live fulfilling independent lives when we're gone. And if I'm no longer with us tomorrow I'm sure they will except for my daughter.

You having any problems getting a boner? If you are then visit the doctor and get a prescription for viagra. The importance of getting the ride on a semi-regular or regular basis can’t be underestimated.

No. I make them in the morning when I wake up and realise that sweet merciful death hasnt taken me yet.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

I have zero problems in that dept and I get regular sex, thank you.

If anything, I don't have sex as much as I'd like...

No need to thank me, dude, and glad to hear you’re getting your hole regularly.

I’m was in a very unhappy marriage for most of my 40’s and wasn’t getting the ride at all. Eventually walked out on the beached whale, and wish I’d done it sooner. I was as randy as a Jack Russell with two dicks, and nearly had me flute worn down to a stump with all the riding I was doing. I’ve calmed down a bit now, but there’s still nothing better than doing the old beast with two backs with some horny bird with big knockers. Top class.

My life and that of De Valera actually overlapped by a few short months...

...that fact alone must make me "getting on."

Now...where are "Ah, you're still a young thing" posts people!!?? ;)

In my 50’s now. What’s your point? Is there some age limit on enjoying the ride? Nothing better then taking off your trousers, getting your lad out, and hoppingbetween the sheets for a good bonking session with some randy minx. Cigarette afterwards of course.

Turned 40 recently and I've found myself wondering where all the years went too... I guess one of the good things about getting older is you sweat the small stuff less

He's not questioning you enjoying the ride, he's questioning your almost teenage attitude to it. You talk like some teenager who never had sex. Also your description of your partner/wife as a beached whale does you no favours.

I was questioning his teenage attitude to it, but in a light hearted way.

Less of the personals there, Kathleen. I’d suggest you calm down and stop being hysterical. I’ve a very light-hearted attitude to life - a certain joie de vivre, and that includes my attitude to sex. Certainly not the sort that only does it once a week - Saturday night, lights out, bottle of wine, after watching the Ray Darcy show, 10
    minutes max, only 2 positions.

Johnny is actually Ben, a 28 yr old PhD student in a committed relationship with Amy. He is close to his family and has no problem in calling home. During weekends him and Amy like to go hiking up the Dublin mountains or stroll through Howth while eating fish and chips. Amy is good friends with Simon Harris and they often all get together for brunch. However there is a secret part to Ben that needs an outlet. In order to be a mustard coloured chino wearing man about town something needs to come out.

And so. Johnny Flash, misogynist extraordinaire and sex maniac is born. Boards is if course the perfect playground for Ben's alter ego. A safe space, something which him and Amy believe is very important, for him to take on the mantle of horrible person free from the constraints of his real life.

Is that how I came across in my post.....:D Try and find 3 other posters to say I am hysterical (with laughter doesn't count you lot!)

Says he is not that type and then gives a scenario that suggests he is............hilarious.

Misogynist? I’ve been called lots of things over the years, but a woman hater? If I’m guilty of anything, it’s loving women too much. Even big birds the odd time if I’ve had plenty of drink.
