That was me, my OH is in the job and heard it from higher up.

Good to know that they’re moving anyway. I myself ain’t waiting on vetting. Just a sign off but it’s a good indication they’re getting the finger out

I have PCT and medical completed and passed in last couple of weeks but still yet to meet Sargent or Super, is this down to my local station or HRM? Anyone know how this works? Could it be you have to pass vetting before they invite you to meet with them? Cheers

I reckon its down to your local station. I've everything done with my local station PCT and medical and was told vetting still outstanding..but i reckon this is national vetting as local vetting is done at your local station and my inspector confirmed all my local vetting was completed.

I would be making contact with HR or with your local station. My sergeant did all my local vetting anyway and when HR had a query they directed it back through him. They could be sitting on your file! Ring and see what's going on!

A lot of us awaiting sign off. Surely it’s a matter of yay or nay like. I wouldn’t mind getting a rejection letter at this stage it’s taking over my life. It planning for family events etc.
Hooefully they have another 100 for the second induction week to be sent out soon.
What source said they know someone who said it’s mad busy with vetting? Can anyone find out is there another induction week for sure and if there will be more offers.
I ring a few times a week and I just don’t have the gift of talking they shut me down straight away

A fella a while back said he’s friends father in law was booked in for first aid training for the second week so that kind of confirms the second week as he’s not been wrong so far.
In my opinion, I wouldn’t be ringing them, it doesn’t make a blind bit of difference in ragards to your file. It is clearly annoying the staff due to the responses some people are receiving from them.

I can understand your frustration, but look at the bright side, a few weeks ago a few from 2016 got offers for first induction week, sit tight I bet you will be in the next batch of offers.

I assumed all of us would get the first week. I can’t really see any of our files being signed off, there is no movement at all on their part. It’s a joke.

Just back from doing the physical myself, and all I heard from the gardaí down there was how they're struggling to get numbers for April, and they were saying to be prepared to get an offer.
They also have 3 physicals this week (Tue/Wed/Fri), which we were also told was a first. Only doing it to try and get more people ready for April apparently.

Hey Carles, always seen you posting when I first went for the Garda back in 2016. I have my physical next week. How did yours go? Any tips you noticed?
    Sorry for posting here amigos

Aye, I was down for medical today and there was loads of us. All passed now, so I can officially join the waiting room, I don't know whether it's a good or bad thing haha

I only applied last June so maybe you mean 2018! Ah I don't think there's much more to add to what's already been posted in the relevant thread. It's definitely easier doing it than when practicing is all I'll say! Just prepare yourself, and if you can do it all beforehand you'll be able to do it on the day no problem.

That's obviously a good thing haha - congratulations! Out of your hands now. Hopefully a good shot of us will get in by July at least!

I had my PCT just yesterday and got an email straight away this morning booking me in for medical next week. Seems incredible that they got the relevant paper work up to HRM so quickly, so I can only assume it's because they're trying to get loads of people over the line ASAP...

Seems bizarre how stuck for numbers they seem to be!

What's the process for the vetting?
After the local meeting and vetting it gets sent to HR who review and complete another vetting and then it just needs to be signed off? Is that the only two stages after local vetting?
    Thanks in advance.
