May looks like thunder. It doesn't sound as if anything has changed, to me.

There is no formula of words that will make both Ireland and the DUP happy.

Good call, if nothing really changes. Stops the mad dogs from blaming us/eu for our intransigence.

No third chances, there will be no further clarifications or assurances if the deal does not get through tomorrow, says Junker.

"unless and until" has been countered by "best endevours" , big change big big change

Jesus H Christ. Listening to May just list off what was all ending for the UK was actually surreal. What an absolutely suicidal decision by a country, its incredible.

Juncker very clear on the backstop. He's well in command here. TM looks defeated.

Does this also mean no extension too though?

I'm okay with everything thus far. Maybe the text itself will change that, but very comfortable that the line has been held fundamentally.

The body language of the two of them is very telling. May knows she's done.

May looks and sounds absolutely shattered. In her situation, I don't blame her to be honest.

So far anything new? Seems same old same old that's a bad deal for leavers and a bad deal for remainers, worst of all worlds.

Very woolly language, however, in that it's virtually impossible to legally prove.

May is politically a dead woman walking. Finished and she knows it

I was thinking that myself. Whatever about the politics of it, she has to be absolutely shattered from a day like today. I doubt I'd have the energy for this kind of craic and I'm a lot younger.
