Benetton -6 vs Dragons looks decent.

is there a reason why people don't show their stakes ? I don't get the hiding bit , if you are betting you are betting, these could be 10c bets .

Typically people are betting very low and don't want to give the impression they're putting €2 accas (nothing wrong with small bets).

I don't get your post, it is a double negative , betting low and don't want to give an impression, and I am not being smart there btw ? . Bookies love accas where the money is so the stats say

No it's a fair point. From experience over forums across the years and different whatsapps/fb groups it's very common to edit the wager amount out. This is primarily because people don't want to seem tight or low-betters. This is obviously personal experience but people would be more than happy to admit the amount they wagered if it was a big return.

My own point there was that there should be no embarrassment for betting low. Winning a 10er off a €2 is still a great bet. I like reading through this thread to see if somebody has won a high odds bet. It can be a fun way to emotionally invest more into events without worrying about losing major money, which unfortunately as we all know is a massive problem in Irish males.

We aren't here to compare sizes it's irrelevant the forum is for posting bets you've done or fancy whether someone wants to put €2 or €2000 is up to them. It's opens up a whole can of worms that the thread could do without

Because it's private - my kids are also on Boards.

There was a guy on here some years back who never posted actual bets but used to go on about never putting less than a grand on a bet. Lol. Anyway, the bets are out here and if people want to take tips from here ...It's all a bit of fun and few apart from the bookies get rich.

The way I see it the stake is no one's business but my own. It would be pretty standard not to provide the stake on threads like this. I have posted before on a points basis, but again the stake could be anything.

For my own bets all I'd say is that the stake is never single digits unless the odds are greater than about 50/1. Typically I would look at the return on the bet and stake pro rata so that most bets would have a similar return ie on a evens bet I could stake €50 to return €100, a 3/1 bet I could stake €30 for a similar return etc.

What i will say is that in over four years of betting I'm down about 4% on what I've deposited.

I'm on Leinster -36. They won 64-7 in the very same fixture last season. I think Leinster got a bit of a fright last week in the first half and I expect the performance to improve. The Kings started well against Munster but they fell apart after that initial surge.

I might bet the other way during the game if the margin is reached too early though.

Paddy Power have England, Ireland & France each to win by 10+ points @ 13/2.

I think France probably do win this weekend but there is no way I feel comfortable backing them so I'll look into tryscorers instead

Close enough in the end. Thankfully Leinster stayed motivated and got the bet home.

Can anyone guarantee Huget will be interested today? If yes then that special with North is tempting. :D

With grigg and Horne in the line up I fancy the big ball carriers to hit them hard

    Taking picamoles any time 7/2
    Basteraud 11/2
    Kinghorn 10/3

Huget & North anytime has gone out to 14/1. That's worth a small stake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Picamole anytime 7/2 as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Huget scores. Now come on North!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

North was close at the end. Ah well.

Jaysus thats a nice turn up

That's a lovely bet on Herring.
I'm a fan of hookers (ahem) being first try scorer but that's on another level.

10/1 PP special, Stockdale to score try in first 10 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    Benetton -2 vs Edinburgh
