Disagree... the whole purpose of dropping from knee height is to decrease the possibility of the ball rolling outside the relief area, then having to be re-dropped and then having to be placed (often to the advantage of the player).

The avoidance of the above should speed things up.

Seeing a pro 3 putt from 3 feet makes me feel a bit better about my putting

Poor Spieth really struggling with the putter, he's - 5.623 shots gained putting today. Wonder does he really have the yips.

In this field he is average enough in strokes gained putting over the last 8 12 24 rounds, he is really odd lately though there always seems to be something very wrong with his game in 1 round a tournament.

    From driver to putter

Commentators never give DJ enough credit I feel if Rory, Tiger or a few other golfers did what he did they would be all out awe over it, very neutral when it comes to him

I'm into Reed putting in a low one tomorrow. He's in the last group and loves to eyeball the opposition. He's very far back but this course throws up some big numbers so it's not over yet.

Yea Dj was superb today, an absolute beast of a player, I'd tend to agree the comms would be drooling over it alot more if it was McIlroy.

Dj has been immense but he also has got the rub of the green in a few spots, for a man who was practising with 5 different putters on wednesday (apparently) he has gained strokes putting each day which is in itself impressive given some of the melt downs we saw today.

I could be wrong on this but from what I've seen i think most of the scoring holes suit a fader which is what DJ does very well.

After today its hard to see him shooting over par but who knows

I have to say McGinley winds me up with some of the stuff he trots out over and over, Like this week I've heard him say 3 times if John Rahm was stocks he'd be buying shares in him! And he loves the word 'trending' too, everyone is always trending in the right direction as far as he's concerned, also while I'm on the topic I can't stand Ewan Murray either with his 'we do things like shout fore so much better in Europe' schtick!

McG does love to repeat himself alright I actually quite enjoyed him when he first joined the team as he used to talk a lot more about stats but doesn't seem to as much.

Golf commentary must be hard though, there is surely only so much you can say about one shot.

I'm not a hug e fan of his but wayne riley came out with a few dingers today describing shots

I like Beemer and Radar tbh, they have alot of charisma and add a comical value to the golf at times. Might be an odd one but I like Boxall and Tony Johnstone on the European tour!

Doubt he will get to DJ but could well upset Rory, who could have the Masters and Hazeltine in the back of his mind.

You can get 66-1 about him this morning. If DJ chokes and gets the yips it is not out of the question. However it is more likely to be a dog fight between DJ and waw wee.

Some good numbers being shot already. As long as DJ doesn't get off to a flyer it could get interesting. Alternatively Rory falters and he blasts out of the blocks and has a seven shot lead...
