Been enjoying Apex Legends lately. Fun enough game, nothing too serious and easy enough to get the hang of it. Can't complain seeing as its a triple A game that costs nothing.

Apex Legends has 10 million players in less than a month. You must be some kind of I don't know what to insist that it's trash in the face of such staggering evidence to the contrary based on your not enjoying a single (but admittedly important) part of it. I think the gun play is up to Respawn's usual high quality.

I've not had a chance to play as much of it as I'd like. It has refined the BR genre quite nicely I think, but I'm hoping they do a solo version too. You will do very well if you're using voice comms and the ping system in tandem (also, their ping system is magnificent, it's got clever context recognition and simplifies the task of working as a squad even with Rando Calrisian and Joe Public). Came second in 4 games in a row with 2 of my friends - all 3 of us are only average FPS players at best these days cause we're in our 40s :)

Zero recoil. It plays exactly like COD black ops 4.

Absolutely not true. Plenty of the guns I've used in it have varying degrees of recoil.

Yeah, Black Ops 4 recoil is almost non existant. Apex is vastly different. Recoil is there 100%.

    Factorio.

    Good heavens it's addictive.

"Ok.. that's me done for the night... hmm... wait, one of my assembly lines appears to be slowing down... mayyybe I'll just fix that..."

    And so on, ad infinitum.

I'd love to play that on a shared server

Are you playing solo or with other folk? I've been wanting to get into a MH game for awhile and I believe it's meant to be the best starting point but I'm unsure if it'll still be fun when not online.

Started solo until i could kill every low rank monster bar the odd few that i sent out an SOS for.
Ive killed all high ranks at this stage so im on tempered and arch tempered monsters now for endgame, i play 50/50 solo/multiplayer depending on the event or whatever.
Its a tonne of fun solo so i wouldnt let that put you off.
Some builds i run are better for solo play and vice versa so its down to whatever you want to do/play.

Lost track of how many games I have failed on, and I'm on all the easiest settings! Looking good on my current game though, day 80 with stupid levels of protection and troops. But I felt the same on one before and died on 105. :/

The final wave is so hard compared to all the previous ones. It ramps up the difficulty far too much.

Played a small bit of Apex Legends, definitely want to play more. Started into the new Civ 6 expansion last night and suddenly it was 1am as is tradition :D

R6 Siege is free to play this weekend, probably give that a lash for a few hours.

I gave Resident Evil 6 another chance and lowered the difficulty to normal.

I have to say that I like it. There's no getting away from the fact that the game is a bit of a mess. If the devs wanted to go this way, I'm amazed they didn't just co-opt Uncharted style controls and ditch the herbs. That said, some of the spectacles are great though I have only done the Leon campaign. It's really embraced the silliness compared to the previous iteration which was pretending to be a serious while retaining the awful tank controls as if it were somehow a horror game.

Here's a nice video on the subject:

I've been playing Zelda - Wind Waker.

I didn't really gel it with it when I first played it, I gave up at the search for tri force part. I'm not that far yet this time, but I can appreciate the game more having played BotW. You can see which parts of WW inspired things in BotW.

The exploration and charting the sea is quite fun.

I have had to google a couple of times when I got stuck, which I hate doing :)

Pokemon Omega Ruby, while taking a break from Etrian Odyssey V (which I had started just after beating Etrian Odyssey III). There's just something about pokemon games that bring me joy.

    It's a guilty pleasure that's for sure.
Once you accept it for what it is. A big dumb action game.

You won't see an RE game like this again however as Capcom have done a course correction with the brilliant RE7 & RE2 Remake and have essentially rediscovered what an RE game actually is.

The final wave is so hard compared to all the previous ones. It ramps up the difficulty far too much.

I finally beat it (they are billions)!

Build a soldier centre immediately and keep cranking out rangers, then soldiers, then snipers. Keep building loads of tents. Look to get a bank early & surround it with houses, and to get building on workshops. Most important though, is to find choke points, build lots of layers of walls (2 layers, a gap, 2 layers, a gap, etc), build a sniper tower for every 4-5 squares wide your wall it, fill all of them with 4 veteran snipers (get the wonder that turns all your soldiers to veterans!), put loads of shocking towers/great ballistas/etc behind, and as soon as the chance comes... build an engineering centre and make your no.1 priority into just churning out titan after titan after titan.

In the end my land stretched the full width of the map, and about 1/2 the height. It worked out handy because in the last wave you get 2-3 groups coming in from every direction, and it seemed like there were a lot more from the north (where they had the most space to run before meeting my walls). This gave me a huge advantage of being able to take out the east/west ones first, the south ones after, and then finally just -barely- being able to hold out the ones from the north.

Also if you get the chance like I did to the south, since I didn't need anything else, I just built another layer of walls to give myself a very large area (about enough for 20 warehouses side by side) and filled it to the brim with the barbed wire stuff, shocking towers/great ballistas/etc behind their own walls. I also had snipers on the outer-outer walls here that I pulled back when just before they zombies got through, to the walls defending my actual camp. At most, maybe 2-3 zombies made it to those walls and only needed about 15 of my 120+ snipers, and no other units to look after. This allowed me to have about 12 titans, 30 soldiers, 40 snipers and a bunch of other units to the north, which is the only reason I survived it!

I am struggling with finding a new game. Currently For Honor and the RE2 Remake are taking up all my time but with S+ got for both Leon and Claire I am not too keen on another playthrough.

Scouring the steam library for an RPG I might have missed is depressing. Will have to give a few JRPG's a shot until something else comes along.

Can anyone recommend a decent one similar to Lost Odyssey and FF7-10?
They are the extent of my JRPG knowledge.

Divinity Original Sin 2 is one of the best RPG's I've played in years.

Truly a great game but already finished. I could try a diff class/race I suppose.

    Mods too :)

Kenshi is another kind of hybrid game I would recommend. (Can be played as an RPG if you so wish). Maybe watch a few videos on it as it may not be for you but I highly recommend it.

Finishing DA Inquisition and playing Anthem at the moment. Former has started to drag, so i just want to finish Trespasser, and the latter is really enjoyable.

After clearing this recently, it went straight into my top 5 games of all time list. Not sure exactly what the other ones are, but this was easily one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
