Its amazing how people rely of Facebook/Twitter for pretty much everything. People will believe total strangers cause it's on the internet :)

Well said. It drives me around the bend, this "it was on the internet/facebook so therefore true".

I live in a rural area where facebook would be the limit of many locals' internet interactions. When I go for a pint I spend so much of the time trying to point out the ridiculousness of people saying in August it's going to be a very bad winter or in January saying it's going to be a scorcher of a summer.

Each time the reply is "But it was on facebook"..😖

Snowing here in west wexford ( blackstairs mountain)

Temp staying at 2 degrees for carlow the past while, low clouds and rain absolutely miserable out. Thought we might have seen at least sleet here today given the radars. Still time maybe?

Drop some down to ferns there nothing but fecking rain here :)

Snow coming down solidly since sundown after a sleety afternoon where the earlier snow never quite melted.

Lost water due to frozen pipe so scraping snow off the car to use for the cisterns. If this makes sense it's sticking on the car at a rate of about 0.5cm every 15 minutes.

    312m asl Roundwood

Lashing hail now as well. 19mm today so far, Comeragh mountains must be getting a right snowfall this evening. How low will we go? I think we'll stall around 2c, just shy.

I can't answer that! Location of sensor? Type of sensor? Accuracy of sensor?

Turning to snow here near Dublin airport but still the very wet variety.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,446 ✭✭✭pauldry

that front would need to be an awful lot further south to get the bitter cold. i reckon 2 to minus 2c tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,193 ✭✭✭screamer

Don’t think we’ll see any type of snow sticking as it’s so wet after the days rain TBH, unless you’re seriously high up in the mountains...,

Nothing whatsoever in swords coming from the sky. It's just been a cold, sh**e, miserable day so far. Absolutely rotten.

Can confirm, some very wet flakes in Dublin 13. Nothing much to get excited about.
