Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Deliver your parcel at the weekend, no chance! All businesses are closed n van will be clogged. They have a depot where u can collect yourself Saturday mornings.
Yeah, couriers are in a race to the bottom, all that matters is price, cheapest gets the gig.
The cheapest dont tend to splash out on help desks etc!

Yet Fastway is always the one that keeps on popping up. There’s no other courier service that causes me to groan when I see who will be delivering my package.
Will he even knock the door?
Will he stick it in the wheelie bin?
Will he be filling out the “sorry we missed you” on the way up my driveway?
Will he hand it to a kid on the street and ask if they know me?

The company I work for uses Fastway to take product from our labs at 6am and 6pm. I can't comment about the night shift drivers but I have had to step in several times to ask the drivers to leave the premises when they turn up over an hour early, enter the premises as they have the door codes. Pretty much sneak past management and tell people working in dispatch that they had a call to collect early. Essentially putting pressure on the girls to get them on the road up to two hours early.
This of course is the last run of their day but I don't get to pick and choose my work hours especially when I'm contacted to do certain hours. extra hours production delivered really impacts our delivering performance. It's not an in house decesion to use then, if it was they would be gone months ago

Why does this fit Fastway so well... that's assuming they even get to the door in the first place, which in my experience, they never do.

If you live in the countryside. Check your local shop. They've been known to just throw them there out of convenience

Make a complaint to Sports Direct. You'll get close to zero customer service from Fastway, who will just fob you off that the man in the van is an independent trader, so nothing to do with them (despite seemingly being paid by them and delivering on their behalf and often having their logo plastered on the side of the van).

Another option is to take them to small claims court, which I have now done twice, and won both times, due to their ineptitude. You'll have to find out the exact front company to take the claim against (it was SPEEDKING COURIERS LIMITED t/a FASTWAY COURIERS MIDLANDS in my case). Costs €25, all done online.

You probably didnt have standing to take those cases despite winning. If they'd bothered to challenge it you'd have failed (assuming you are the recipient not the sender).

    Fastway being useless again

Had a parcel delivered yesterday 'delivered to a safe location'

I have no idea where it is. Dublin phone number EDE provided earlier does not work. Found a number for my local depot, doesn't work either.

Without knowing any facet of the cases whatsoever, I'm not sure how you deduce that. They did challenge in one case, and I still won. In the other I had written confirmation from them accepting liability, before they then refused to engage.

Because only the person who is paying for the service can claim. In the OPs case, SD paid the intermediary, who paid the courier to deliver. The small claims action would go against SD, not Fastway.

I heard a rumour some months ago, so third party hearsay as judge Judy would say, that An Post won the littlewoods contract when Fastways contract ended with them, true or not I don't know, but probably a little better service than what being said here.

Well if this is the case then the Fastway contract hasn't ended yet as had 5 recent littlewoods deliveries and all were Fastway drivers with different levels of competence!

Anyone have a dedicated client phone number for Fastway South Dublin that they can PM me?

Impossible to get any sort of reply from the online support. Extremely frustrating.

This is what I had to deal with Fastway.. Many an email to littlewoods and Fastway and not one call from the Fastway delivery driver until today.

Happened to me too - between holding deliveries eventhough the same person delivered before ^_^ to being verbally attacked by another of their delivery people I stopped ordering from Littlewoods. It's the only way -because Fastway don't really care what happens to your delivery - maybe Littlewoods will begin to see a pattern if people stop using them!

Anyone have a number I can contact in relation to this farcical situation? Would be the midlands hub I would need to contact as delivery address is in Laois.

I have emailed both Sports Direct and Fastway twice now and still no response relating to the actual problem.

"We're sorry your parcel has been misdirected between our depots", is just a euphemism for the driver couldn't be bothered.

So the driver held on to it until he had a reason to drive out to your area, very typical of Fastway. Really a fault of the whole Fastway franchise system that doesn't pay the driver enough to spend more than a couple of minutes on each drop - that assumes you are off the drivers normal route.

Ordered something of littlewoods 2 weeks ago. On Friday morrning it said is on the van. So I waited in all day. No delivery. Che kad that they deliver on Saturdays.Again o delivery. imagine my surprise when in Sunday night at 9pm I get a knock at the door for delivery from them.. 😂

Does anyone have a number for Fastway customer service?

I can't find any on their website.

There is an overdue parcel, the tracking number had no results until late yesterday and it apparently is now in Ireland to be "delivered in 1-2 days" but it almost a week late as it is.

EDIT: The only contact option seems to be online. When they responded yesterday they claimed my parcel had only arrived in Ireland that morning. The email the previous day claimed it was in Ireland too - only way for their statements to be true is that they sent it back to the UK and brought it over again.

I'm starting to slightly panic now...ordered my husband's Xmas present from Sportsdirect on December 10, for delivery to my office and it still hasn't arrived. Fastway received it on December 17, and I am certain it said it was out for delivery yesterday and now it say out for delivery with today's date. I've screenshot this just incase it doesn't arrive today and changes again tomorrow.
Office will be closed after tomorrow, so don't know what to do about the parcel. I've messaged fastways online.

Is there any other more effective way of contacting them?

You can't collectively describe them. The office has no influence on what the drivers deem to do and not do.

The only thing you can do is to drop into their delivery centre. You might just walk out with the parcel. But you have an equal chance of seeing a staff member wearing it, if it's an item of clothing.

Have you looked up your local area on facebook?
I found a mobile number for my area today and got my package. The tracking said out for delivery for the 3rd day. The driver claimed it wasn't on his paperwork but when he looked in the back of the van it was there! Amazing!
    Hope you get your package.

That's great! Delighted for you - You were lucky the driver had a root around the van!

When I look them up on Facebook, all I can find is Fastway Couriers Ireland. No numbers or anything. What did you search for? My package is at the depot in Hawkes Bay in Dublin. I might take a spin over in the morning on the off chance they're working the weekend

I guess it's depot dependent, as they're a franchise operation.

My local Fastway driver is great, and she delivered stuff to us in north County Dublin last Sunday.

Looks like they are delivering today in Dublin anyway. My parcel is moving through all the stages this morning and it's out for delivery now

I placed a substantial order with Sports Direct (just over €100) and it was eventually shipped via Fastway.

I got a call around lunch time, with a driver saying he couldn't find my address (it's easy to find) and refused to go back or to drop it to my office. He said he'd leave it back to the depot and the usual driver would deliver it Monday.

I check the tracker to see it's been "delivered and signed for" this evening... except it catagorically hasn't. No one in the house has seen it. We have CCTV in the complex, so I might even check this out.

I just put in a support request to Fastway but am looking here for advise on how to resolve this ASAP as I'm conscious it's a substantial order. Cheers.

Is it possible that it means it has been delivered to the depot and the driver has signed for it in the depot, as that’s where he said he was bringing it.

I hope that’s the case. But surely their “technology” will show a scab saying “returned to depot.”

I don't think thee is a quick way to resolve it.

Fastway don't seem to have any phone support and you never when an email might be answered.

Their website should have the depot location. You should see I they are open today.

Had a coat to be delivered by fastway last year, was signed for and delivered, but was not to my address, phoned the delivery guy and he said sorry its in number 8".so on down to number 8 and no nothing, took me a few days to drag it oiut of him that number 8 was a house not even on my road, also had conversations with people on my road where they told me fastway had left there packages in there bins, and behind there garden bushes and the likes,oh and when i phoned i was always number 20 in line, got to number one and would be cut off, when i did get my coat back it was in the back garden of a house 3 roads down,he threw it across the wrong fence and signed for it himself,useless..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

I had a similar situation just before Christmas. It said it was delivered 'left in secure location' on a Thursday afternoon. The courier turned up with it on Saturday morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 598 ✭✭✭arseagon

I was just able to tell one of my companies suppliers to not send Fastway near our office again if they wanted us to keep buying from them.... I can't tell you how satisfying that was!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,806 ✭✭✭The J Stands for Jay

I bought something online and they chose Fastway for delivery. Got an email saying it had been delivered. Phoned my wife who was at home all day, and noone had come to the door. She had, however watched a Fastway van park outside our house and the driver brought a package to our neighbour without coming near our house. I went to the tracking site and could see that our neighbour had signed for it...

    Great work there lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,254 ✭✭✭Spon Farmer

I've bought between last Wednesday and the weekend. According to the seller my deliveries are supposed to arrive Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

It was only late on Monday that I realised (after the tracking on a couple of items updated) that the courier is Fastway.:(

Not a hope I see any of it this week.

And I'm not blaming our usual Fastway delivery guy - he is is a decent chap, I told him just before Christmas that there was a long overdue package and he called the main hub to find it and brought it to me on his way home. It is the depots that are a mess.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 598 ✭✭✭arseagon

Yes the depots are a mess, there appears to be next to no communication between them and this coupled with Fastways refusal to provide any form of decent service to try to track parcels down and sort issues out are what have lead to this thread. There is no phone number that can be called to contact anyone and they might respond to their email system anything up to 4 days after you send them an email and you'll be waiting another 4 days if you have to respond to their response.

Most of the drivers are perfectly nice people that have been given way too much to manage to deliver any given day and because of this they're willing to dump parcels anywhere they can to simply get them off their vans. Some on the other hand are simply pr**ks.

  • Registered Users Posts: 240 ✭✭Wanderer41

I have been expecting a delivery via fastway and only heard how bad they are after I ordered. Tracking says my package was delivered to a 'safe location' but no note left and no phone call at all. Had my eircode on the delivery so it's not as if it would have been hard to find. Not sure when I'll see it!
