Think it could be a very rough few weeks for Munster. Have to travel up to ulster without internationals to play against a team in good form and will be gunning for revenge after earlier in the season.

Leinster will always be a tough game as mentioned above.

Then away to Connacht with 6 day turn around before massive European match where as Connacht can roseate in Europe. Connacht would probably target the Munster match more than Europe as beating Munster would more than likely mean overtaking them in the conference.

Could see Munster coming out of the next few matches with very little points
I dont think its as bad as you make it out to be.
Ulster will be missing players in that game as well.
Leinster will be tough but all depends on who's involved for each. Connacht can rotate for Europe to an extent but will still be pushing for quarters place and it'll be third interpro for each so hard to say who'll be available then
Wouldnt say Munster will have few points from the interpros.

Going of the Inpho photos taken in training today the players missing were:
    Kilcoyne
    Scannell
    Ryan
    Beirne
    Pom
    CJ
    Murray
    Carberry
    Scannell
    Arnold
    Sweets
    Conway
    Earls
and probably the biggest one, Mike Haley

Therefore going off the fact none of these are available the team for Friday is probably looking like this presuming we can’t get any back.
Loughman KOB Archer Kleyn(did media duties so probably suggests he’s good) Holland Coombes Cloete Botha Cronin Johnson Wotton Tyler Taute Nash Hanrahan.
Sherry O’Connor(liam) Parker Wycherley Oliver Williams Goggin Daly

With the exceptions of Rory Scannell and Mike Haley there's nothing unexpected there. Would be surprised that Haley is making even the extended Ireland squad but guess Joe is looking at alternative 15s of all kinds

Ulster won't have their internationals either and as we all know there is no real strength in depth when those guys have gone. I will be happy with a decent performance but don't expect a win.

Actually this will be an interesting game from the point of view of seeing where the Ulster side are at, Munster are a good measuring yardstick for this.

The biggest loses will probably be Addison, Henderson and Nordi as they are far better than whoever is going to replace them. Best will be missed from a leadership point of view, but there’s very little step down in quality to Herring (if he was released from the squads?). Stockdale of course is a big loss as he’s always good for a try, but wingers don’t influence games as much as forwards. Having Coetze, Moore and a resurgent Treadwell will help Ulster greatly. Munster are far more affected and will not be fielding a weak team at home to Leinster. As you say a good test, but one I’d be hopeful Ulster can pass.

Presuming Scannell is in for Henshaw

    Enforced rest, same as always.

The starting XV, Carbery and Stander aside, played against Edinburgh so they're on three consecutive games already.
This is the time of year where we'll see the usual grumbling about second string interpro lineups (I'm as guilty as anyone of this) but ultimately if Ireland win a 6N/GS in a few months time the dissenters will be silent.

Is it time to abandon the idea of playing home and away interpros as part of the Pro14?

If Muster V Leinster happened just once a year and it was a true 1st XV versus 1st XV, it would be the game we would all look forward to? - the bragging rights would mean something again.

Some of us enjoy watching the Leinster kids walloping Munster

Why wouldn't you let the kids get some experience? nothing better than the yearly winning trip to Limerick over the Christmas :P

neither side would want to lose income from losing a home game.

Seems a very English solution to change the entire structure of the league to suit IRFU self imposed selection policies.

    Since 2010/11
    Played 19 times
    Munster wins: 6
Will leave you to work out the Leinster wins :p

A win this Christmas and Leinster will match the longest winning streak in the fixture of 5

So it is not a nothing fixture for Leinster, I would guess they want to match that winning streak

Leinster have far bigger fish to fry, a win would be nice but no way is it that important to extend a meaningless streak.

Ouch. That's Gloucester in a spot of bother. Cipriani has started every single Premiership and Champions Cup game for them bar one; they're quite unprepared for losing him. Their injury list is impressively long at this point. A rake of their new signings are now absent.

I assume Owen Williams will move back to outhalf, where he hasn't played regularly in a long time and was second fiddle to Billy Burns last season. Munster fans will remember him with little fondness however, given his kick in injury time at Welford Road a few years back.

Mathewson is keen to stay? Would that be allowed? Don't Munster have plenty of cover at 9?

Not a hope given the McCarthy signing I would imagine. At least not past the end of the season.

Maybe he could stay as RWC cover with Murray absent but I don't see anything beyond that. Ultimately the RWC is an opportunity for McCarthy to start 4-5 matches so I don't see a need to keep Mathewson.

Kockott got 3 weeks for 'contract to the eye area'. Bit of a joke ban really. Again I cannot see why they could not have spotted this during the match. They were quick enough to look at replays of plenty other things

Additional seating added behind the goals for the Exeter game,

    21,500 tickets sold so far.

    Hopefully it sells out

So we have Sean Gallagher referring the Ulster game and weirdly Frank Murphy referring the Leinster game.

    Ulster v Munster – KO 19.35

    Kingspan Stadium, Belfast

    Referee: Sean Gallagher (IRFU)

AR1: Nigel Correll (IRFU), AR2: Leo Colgan (IRFU)

    TMO: Brian MacNeice (IRFU)

    Munster v Leinster – KO: 17:15

    Thomond Park, Limerick

    Referee: Frank Murphy (IRFU)

AR1: Sean Gallagher (IRFU). AR2: Johnny Erskine (IRFU)

    TMO: Simon McDowell (IRFU)
