I`m beginning to think at least half of Irish adults are retarded.

There is a full factual article here that outlines the many debts and judgments registered against the noble crusader by various financial institutions. I`m no scientist but it doesn't take one to spot that someone doesn't like paying their bills.

But sure that`s ok, we will just blame the banks and the politicians and the fictional "elite" for peoples inability to control their personal finance. We wouldn't be Irish if we didn't look for someone to blame our problems on.

Your a bit retarded if you cannot see that it was bringing down Loyalist scum to the Republic to evict people from their homes is why we even know that this case exists.

Much experience of "loyalist scum" down in Tipp, have you Tom?

The elderly family were violently thrown out of their home, ended up with horrific injuries. Your bank supporting FFG media didn't report that and instead labelled the community's response in Strokestown as that famous word "dissidents".

FFS again they weren't elderly! One retired Garda stuck his nose in and lost some teeth. The Gardai are investigating two complaints because of it. From looking at the video I've seen far worse outside nightclubs in Dublin on a Saturday night.

The people that carried out the assault on Sunday morning were not locals. They were itching to give a few "Jaffa's" a kicking and to damage their property and didn't give a toss about the eviction. Stoking up sectarian shi!e again. At least it will give the unionists pause for thought if they were ever considering voting for reunification because of Brexit. A large number down here aren't mature enough to share our state with them yet.

You'd want to retract that and see the attachment, just one of a number of horrific injuries inflicted by the violent firm on an elderly man. Hope you wish him a speedy recovery?

that is your idea of horrific?

We're mature enough to share it with them, but they won't share it with us....

    A grazed knee isn’t a horrific injury.

Without doubt there are times when evictions are necessary and should be a last resort.
However the way to handle an eviction is not to hire a few heavy handed thugs to come along in masks and unmarked cars.
This process could be carried out in a better fashion, may take more time but ultimately better result overall.
Eg if the Bank now own the property and after final warnings they could turn services off water and electricity to get people to move voluntarily.
If approved, trained and regulated security personnel need to enter the house they could do so without manhandling the occupants out. Just take possession of the house and wait for people to leave.

A much less confrontational approach is needed especially in the first instance.
The nature of this eviction, whether justified or not, was a disgrace

The cumulative time frame here is in excess of 18 YEARS,which might suggest that a "better result" would be unlikley whatever eviction process was utilized.

If the occupants of the property refuse to leave, then what approach, other than "manhandling" will secure their departure ?

As has been referred to earlier,it is increasingly difficult to secure Debt Collection or Process Serving operators in the Republic, due to the very real probability of significant physical violence during or after the actual occurrences.

The other option being the use of An Garda Siochana to enforce such orders, which,I suspect, would cause a small flurry of "offence" to some posters...or perhaps not ?

Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one.

Jaysus. He nearly lost the leg.

Those bullies are always at this, look at what they did to an octogenarian only a short while ago.

A dash of sudocream and an Elastoplast and he'll be ok. It's not life-threatening. Have you any pics of the three hospitalised injured security men and their dog - just in the interests of balance and fairness?

This elderly bullsh1t is pathetically dishonest.

    50s is not elderly.

My parents are in their early 70s and they aren't remotely frail yet.

It really irks me that there is so much support for this man, who willingly neglected his debts.

This is not a family struggling to keep a house over their head, with no other alternative to pay for debt accrued.

    Its bizzare.

What does the word elderly? Do you actually know?
As far as I'm aware it means getting on in years. It was used as a term to describe somebody who isn't old but getting on. I'd put most people in their mid fifties and early sixties in that category.

And where would you put middle-aged? anyone who's had their 21st birthday party?

I must tell my sister you think she is elderly. She'll be delighted.

Well that's a lot different because you won't feel the pain when you are drunk and by the time you wake up and sober up there will already have been plenty of heeling.

Most people die between the ages of 70 and 90. Half that is 35-45

But that's how the countryside operates.
    Low levels of education.
Basically they're just farmers or little retailers eking out an existence.
    Gullible/highly suggestible.
Sure, Sean Quinn is a hero in Cavan
These are the folks the bots target in the US.
But instead of bots you've got the egomaniacs in the Land League, GO'D, SF/IRA splinters, Anti-Vaxers etc

Instead of a United Ireland, could would there be much support for us donating certain midlands and border counties to the North?
